This research aims to establish the types of errors made by primary school children in relation to four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) by primary school teacher candidates and to provide solution suggestions for mitigating these errors. The study employed a qualitative research methodology and involved 86 primary school teacher candidates who were enrolled in a state university's primary school teaching program in Ankara and took the "Mathematics Teaching I" course. The sample of the study was selected by the easily accessible case sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods. In the study, the case study method based on the qualitative research approach was used, and the descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of the data. During the data collection stage, teacher candidates were given one incorrect operation from each addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations and were required to detect the error and find solutions. According to the results, the primary school teacher candidates mostly correctly identified the errors made by the children in the mentioned four operations. In terms of eliminating errors, suggestions for errors besides and subtraction are more suitable than suggestions for errors in multiplication and division. If we list the suggested ways of eliminating the highest to the lowest errors, it is seen that those are; showing by modeling, explanation based on operational information, showing based on digits, and showing through the operation, respectively.
