THERAPEUTIC HELMINTHS: A NEW PERSPECTIVE AGAINST THE PARASITE

Yıl 2019, Cilt: 10 Sayı: 2, 49 - 59, 21.08.2019

Öz

An important increase is observed in the prevalence of allergic and autoimmune diseases in developed countries. Differences of immunological responses between parasitic infections and autoimmune or allergic diseases in the organism suggest the use of parasites as therapeutic agent in these diseases. The emergence of new information in this regard is expected to open a new horizon in the treatment of allergic and autoimmune diseases. With this review, it is aimed to give information about therapeutic helminths.
