Medical device registration systems, which are established in Turkey, is a first in the world because medical devices meet the minimum safety requirements and have the characteristics of creating a common language for the user, controller and all the reimbursing parties. Medical device registration systems; placing safe products on the market, ensuring safe circulation of products and transparency in terms of price, monitoring all medical devices on a singular level; all institutions and organizations related to medical devices such as public and private health institutions and organizations, certifying notified bodies, calibration organizations, technical service organizations are included in the scope of the aim of safe product, optimum price, legal production and import. In the study, we try to examine the success of public procurement, which is one of the objectives of the development of medical device registration systems, on the optimum price and its effect on public health expenditures. For this purpose; the tender costs of the medical device at the initial stage of the medical device registration system are determined. The determined tender prices are compared with the changes in the tender prices realized with the medical device registration application over time. It is concluded that the medical device registration system reduces medical device prices and contributes to health expenditure savings. It is considered that monitoring and analyzing the accurate and regular entry of public procurement price information entered into the registration systems can provide effective medical device cost management.
