The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between the decision-making styles and cognitive flexibility of healthcare manager candidate. For this purpose, research is conducted on healthcare manager candidates who have an undergraduate education in Health Management. The survey method is used as a data collection method in the research. The data obtained from 334 participants are analysed through SPSS and AMOS programs. The relationship between cognitive flexibility and decision-making styles is tested with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). According to participants’ statements about cognitive flexibility, “I would like to listen and evaluate alternative solutions to overcome a problem (5.39)” is the highest mean. On the other hand, when the statements about the decision-making behaviours of the participants are examined, "I need to think carefully about the problem in order to make a decision" is the statement with the most participation with an average of 4.24. Cognitive flexibility and rational decision-making, impulsive decision-making, spontaneous decision-making styles have statistically significant relationships. It is thought that conducting applications based on observation, interpretation, and analytical thinking in places such as different administrative units of hospitals would be effective in improving the decision-making styles of healthcare manager candidates and increasing their cognitive flexibility.
