Disturbances in fluid and electrolytes are the most common clinical problems among
in the intensive care unit. The aim of the fluid replacement are restoration of normal hemody-
namics and tissue perfusion. But avoiding hypervolemia, as well as hypovolemia, plays a pivotal
role in the intensive care unit. Description of fluid and electrolyte disorders is very critical in terms
of treatment and care. This review will focused on fluid replacement therapy and follow up fluid
balance in intensive care unit.
