Writing Rules
INONU UNIVERSITY JOURNAL OF AFRICAN STUDIES AFRICANIA PUBLISHING AND WRITING RULES
General Principles
1. Inonu University Journal of African Studies AFRICANIA is an international refereed journal and is published twice a year (January-July), except for special issues.
2. Uploading the article to the Inonu University Journal of African Studies through the article tracking system is accepted as an application for publication. No royalties are paid for the articles.
3. Any legal responsibility for the content of the articles published in the İnönü University Journal of African Studies belongs to the author.
4. Inonu University Journal of African Studies has the right to make corrections in the submitted articles, to publish the articles or not to publish them.
5. Inonu University Journal of African Studies AFRICANIA will publish multilingual publications especially in Turkish. English, German, French, Arabic, Persian and Swahili.
6. At the beginning of the article to be uploaded to the article tracking system, the language of the article and the title in English, followed by the original language of the article consisting of at least 200 words, the abstract in English and Turkish, and the keywords of 5-8 words, the first of which is the branch of science; should take place.
7. After the abstract section of the articles submitted to the journal, there should be a structured English abstract section of at least 750 words under the title of “structured abstract”. This is important so that your article can be cited abroad. Expect for the introduction to the structured summary, your findings that go to the center of the subject and especially your conclusions in the conclusion part should be taken as they are. Structured English abstracts must also be included in English articles.
8. The full text of the article should not exceed 35 journal pages, including the attached articles, pictures, figures, maps, etc. Images such as pictures, figures and maps to be added to the article should be sent as an attachment to the article in high resolution, print quality scanned and the rules in figures and charts should be followed when naming pictures/figures/maps. Figures, tables and pictures should not exceed 10 pages (one-third of the article).
9. Under the title of the article, information such as the author’s name, title, country, the institution where he works, e-mail address and ORCID should be included. After the preliminary evaluation process of the manuscript, the author information is removed and the referee process of the manuscript is started for the articles whose editorial process is positive. If the referee process is positive, the relevant information will be added to the article again by the editor. Therefore, since the article will be examined while entering the system, it will nıt be a problem to include any information about the author in the article.
10. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published elsewhere. The publication of unpublished symposium papers in article format is possible, provided that this situation is stated.
11. Manuscripts must be sent in the format specified below. Manuscripts that are not entered into the system in this format will not be taken into consideration.

Page Layout
1. Manuscripts should be written in Microsoft Word and page structures should be arranged as follows.
2. For articles that use a special font, the font used should also be sent with the article.
3. Details such as headers and footers should not be included in the articles.
4. The title of the article should be written in all capital letters, 12 points, bold and centered on the text. In the intermediate and sub-headings, only the first letter of each word should be capitalized, the headings should be in line with the paragraph indentation and no other formatting should be included.
5. In terms of spelling and punctuation, the Spelling Guide of the Turkish Language Institution should be taken as a basis, except for special cases necessitated by the article or subject. For articles written in other languages, the spelling of the relevant language should be taken as a basis.
6. APA 7 should be used as the citation system in the article. There must be a bibliography at the end of the article.
7. Quotations and References: Direct quotations should be given in quotation marks. Quotations less than 3 lines should be written between the lines, quotations longer than 3 lines should be written 1.5 cm from the right and left of the line, as a block and with 1.5 line spacing in 9 points. The use of footnotes should be avoided as much as possible, only explanations should be used and (Office Word) automatic numbering should be used.
8. References cited in the bibliography should be listed according to the surname and written in 12 font size. The hanging paragraph format should be applied for the bibliography. (Hanging Paragraph, Value: 1.25 cm, Spacing Before: 6, After: 6, Line Spacing: Full, Value: 12 pt).
