AJP Article Publication Process
• AJP has adopted the principle of sending studies to the evaluation process as soon as possible with an effective preliminary check. Accordingly, studies submitted in accordance with the journal's purpose-scope and writing principles proceed to the evaluation phase after passing the preliminary control process and the approval of the editorial board. At this point, it is very important for authors to take into account the purpose-scope, writing and publication principles of the journal.
• The evaluation process is carried out according to the double-blind referee system. At least 2 referees are appointed for each study that comes to the journal and passes the pre-check stage. If deemed necessary by the editor and the editorial board, an article can be sent to 3 or more referees at the same time.
• The periods foreseen for the processes are the periods expected to be complied with in ordinary cases. Situations arising from extraordinary circumstances will cause the deadlines to be extended.
Submission of Articles
* All articles coming to our journal are scanned with intihal.net and iThenticate software, which are important plagiarism programs.
* Studies must be sent to the journal via Dergipark and the necessary information must be entered into the system as part of the evaluation process.
* Email etc. to the magazine. Studies submitted to the journal through different means will not be evaluated.
Preflight
* Studies submitted to the journal are first examined by the editor and editorial board to determine whether they are suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal. Articles that do not comply with the purpose and scope of the journal are rejected directly.
* Studies that are suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal are subject to preliminary evaluation with a pre-check form within the framework of the writing rules.
* If there are corrections that the author needs to make in the study, feedback is given via the pre-flight form.
* For studies where no deficiencies are detected in the preliminary check, the referee evaluation process is started.
* The estimated time for this stage is 3 - 5 days.
Appointing a referee
* At this stage, the relevant editor searches for a referee who will evaluate the study in the best way, taking into account the subject and field of the study.
* At least four referee candidates are determined for each study. The reason for this is to make an offer to the other arbitrator(s) without wasting time, if the two arbitrators to be offered arbitration do not accept the offer.
* Candidates who are offered arbitration are given 7 days to accept the offer. New arbitrators are appointed to replace arbitrators who do not respond to the offer within this period.
* The estimated time for this stage is 3 - 5 days.
Evaluation
* Referees who accept the referee offer are given 15 days for evaluation. In cases of necessity, this period can be extended for another 7 days upon the request of my spouse.
* Referees report one of three recommendations, such as acceptance, rejection or correction of the article, to the editorial board.
* Evaluation results are shared with the author after all referees complete the evaluation process.
* The estimated time for this stage is 15-21 days.
* Manuscripts that receive one positive and one negative opinion at the end of the period are definitely sent to a third referee (In this case, the process causes the anticipated period to be extended by at least 21-28 days).
Writer
* During this process, the author is obliged to make the changes and corrections suggested by the referees. Authors are expected to provide feedback to the referees regarding the edits they have made. For this, the Referee must fill out the suggestion feedback form and upload it to the system.
* If the referees want to see the work again after the suggested edits, the changes made by the author are sent back to the referee for final control and re-evaluated by the referees. As a result of the evaluation, the relevant study is accepted for publication by the decision of the relevant editor and editorial board.
* If the corrections suggested by the referees are not made, the work loses its right to be published.
* Necessary checks on studies in which changes and corrections are suggested by the referees, but are not requested to be reviewed again, are carried out by the editors and the editorial board as a third opinion, and the result is notified to the author.
* The estimated time for this stage is 7 - 15 days.
Publisher
* The publication process is initiated for studies that are edited in line with the recommendations of the referees and the editor and approved by the editorial board.
* The similarity rate of the study is determined once. Studies that meet the specified similarity rates are checked in terms of language and expression, and after the necessary corrections are made by the author, they are included among the studies ready for publication.
* Studies are available for early viewing until the journal's issue publication deadline.
The estimated time for this stage is 5 - 10 days.
