1. Articles that have not been previously published, are not under review for publication in another journal, and have been approved by each author, are accepted for evaluation.
2. Submitted articles that pass the preliminary check are screened for plagiarism using iThenticate software. A plagiarism similarity rate of less than 15%, and for articles derived from theses, a rate of less than 20%, is required.
3. After the plagiarism check, articles deemed suitable are formally reviewed by the secretariat for compliance with journal publication principles, academic writing standards, and the APA 6 Citation System. Subsequently, the editor evaluates the articles for originality, methodology, the significance of the subject matter, and compatibility with the journal's scope.
4. The work that passes the Preliminary Review and Plagiarism Scan is forwarded to the relevant field editor for examination in terms of problematic aspects and academic language/style.
5. Articles evaluated by the field editor are then sent for double-blind peer review by at least two national/international reviewers by the editor in the next stage.
6. If both referee reports are positive, the work is presented to the Editor with a proposal for consideration for publication. If one of the two referees express a negative opinion, the work is sent to a third referee. Works can be published with the positive decision of at least two referees.
7. The publication decision is made by the Editor following the revisions made by the authors in accordance with the referees' requests and the completion of the referee process.
8. The preliminary examination and referee process take an average of 12 weeks.
Revision Phase
When reviewers request amendments in the manuscript, the relevant reports are sent to the author, who is then asked to make the necessary revisions. The corrections are expected to be completed within a maximum of 10 days. The author indicates the changes made in red and submits them to the field editor and the editor.
Field Editor Review
The field editor checks whether the author has made the requested corrections in the manuscript.
Turkish Language Review
Works that have passed through the peer review process are examined by the Turkish Language Editor. If necessary, revisions are requested from the author.
English Language Review
After passing the Turkish language review, the manuscripts are reviewed by the English Language Editor, and the author may be asked for revisions if necessary.
Typesetting and Layout Phase
Works approved for publication are typeset and laid out, making them ready for publication.
Final Reading
After the layout process is complete, the works undergo a final reading before the journal is published.
Submission of Data to National and International Indexes
Metadata of articles from the published issue is transmitted to the relevant indexes within 30 days.
Submission of articles for the January 2025 issue of Akdeniz Art (volume: 19 issue: 35) will take place between October 1 st to 15 th , 2024.
