Kurtulus Aciksari MD, MSc Disaster Medicine. He is specialist in Emergency Medicine. He has been working in Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine for six years. He is responsible for the emergency medicine residents training program, dissertation and research projects in emergency departments. He is author of several full papers published on peer-reviewed, impacted journals, and presented at national and international congresses. Dr. Aciksari is Advisor to the President of the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC). He is responsible for the establishment of Health Emergency Response Unit establishment with The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and TRC. He is working in the TEAMS (Training for Emergency Medical Teams and European Medical Corps) project, funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, aiming to develop, pilot and assess a standardized, validated and cost-effective training package, focused on operational team training for EMCs/EMTs, adaptable to different types of EMCs/EMTs, and sustainable within low-income countries and resource-poor settings.
