The
purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of employees’
intrapreneurship tendencies on their organizational commitment levels and the
mediating effect of democratic-participative management style perceptions about
their managers. The universe of the research is the banking sector. The sample
data is formed with the participation of 215 people working in bank branches in
Istanbul. Two separate methods have been used in the research for two separate hypotheses.
The effect of intrapreneurship on organizational commitment is analyzed by
hierarchical regression method. The mediating role of the
democratic-participative management style is analyzed by structural equation model analysis. The
results obtained from research findings indicate that; the proactivity
dimension of intrapreneurship has an effect on affective commitment; while the
proactivity and the innovation dimensions of intrapreneurship have effects on
continuance commitment. According to the results of mediating analysis, it
seems that the democratic-participative management style does not have a
mediating role.
