The Rules of the Journal of Religion and Humans on Research and Publication Ethics are as follows:
1. Each article sent to our journal is sent to two independent referees outside the editorial board after the preliminary control of the technical editorial board. In this process, double-sided blind arbitration is applied. Upon the positive opinion of the referees, the article is re-evaluated by the editorial board and after the necessary copyright and ethical documents are obtained, the article is passed to the editing / layout stage for publication. After the necessary arrangements, it is put in the order of publication.
2. Every article sent to our journal is evaluated by scanning in the plagiarism detection program. Or, a plagiarism screening report can be requested from the authors. Articles that fall below the minimum requirements will not be evaluated. Programs such as iThenticate, Turnitin, https://intihal.net/ are used for plagiarism detection. Through these systems, it is confirmed that the articles have not been published anywhere before or that they do not contain any plagiarism. On the other hand, the authors are responsible for plagiarism and content-related issues.
3. Care should be taken to protect personal data in articles sent to our journal. In this direction, the journal management is obliged to ensure the protection of personal data regarding the images/associations in the articles. The personal data used in the content of the article will not be published without the explicit consent of the individuals. In this context, the author, editorial board, editorial board and referees are responsible for protecting the individual data in question.
4. Matters such as freedom of thought and property rights of the articles submitted to our journal are respected. The journal management is obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all articles it deems suitable for publication, and to defend the rights of the journal and authors in case of possible violations. In addition, the publication and editorial board of the journal are obliged to take the necessary measures so that the contents of the articles do not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications.
5. Respect for basic human rights and animal rights should be essential in the articles sent for publication. In this context, ethics committee approval must be obtained for the subjects to be used in articles. In this context, the journal management is obliged to ensure the protection of human and animal rights in the articles. In the absence of ethical committee approval for the subjects used in the articles or legal permissions for experimental research, they are obliged to reject the article in question.
6. The rules to be considered regarding publication ethics in the manuscripts sent to our journal are as given under the heading "Acts against science research and publication ethics" in matter 8 of YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive. Authors should seriously avoid the issues detailed below:
a) Plagiarism: To present the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules.
b) Forgery: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work based on untrue data, to report or publish them, to make a research that has not been done as if it has been done.
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to present methods, devices and materials that are not used in the research as if they were used, not to evaluate data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, to manipulate data and/or results in order to fit the relevant theory or assumptions, falsify or shape.
d) Republishing: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in associate professor examination evaluations and academic promotions.
e) Slicing: Presenting the results of a research as separate works in the evaluations of associate professorship exams and academic promotions by breaking the integrity of the research, inappropriately dividing it into parts, and making multiple publications without citing each other.
f) Unfair authorship: Including people who do not have active contributions among the authors, not including people who have active contributions among the authors, changing the order of the authors unjustifiably and inappropriately, to remove the names of those who contributed actively from the work during publication or in subsequent editions, to include his name among the authors by using his influence, although he did not have an active contribution.
g) Other types of ethical violations: Not clearly stating the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions to the research in the publications of the research carried out with support. Not complying with ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting patient rights in their publications, to share the information contained in a work that he was assigned to review as a referee before it is published, to misuse the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or reserved for scientific research, to accuse completely unfounded, groundless and intentional ethical violations.
7. For manuscripts submitted to our journal, international standards published by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for Editors and Authors will be taken into account.
Author:
a. It has all publishing rights of the published work. No copyright is requested, no fee is paid for the articles sent to our journal.
b. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or sent to another journal for publication. In other words, the works submitted for publication must be original. Studies that have previously been presented in national or international congresses or symposiums and whose abstracts have been published can be sent by stating these qualities.
c. Studies submitted to our journal should not be contrary to scientific research and publication ethics. The rules specified in the YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive should be strictly followed.
d. While the pre-control, evaluation and editing process of an article is in progress, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human may request additional documents from the author(s) regarding the ethical status of the article.
e. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human does not accept the change of author responsibilities (adding/removing authors, changing the order) in a publication whose evaluation process has begun.
f. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human assumes that the authors of the articles submitted for publication agree to abide by these conditions.
Publisher-Editor:
a. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human develops the arguments that will help raise the quality standards of the journal.
b. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human ensures healthy author-referee relations.
c. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human strives to meet the information needs of readers and writers.
d. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Religion and Human defends the diversity of academic ideas and the freedom of scientific thought. At the same time, it strives to maintain the journal's operation by observing intellectual property rights and ethical standards.
e. In accordance with the publication policy of the Journal of Religion and Human, all publication processes are carried out in a transparent manner. Observes transparency as per the publication policy in matters that require correction, change or explanation for any reason.
Referee:
a. According to the publication policy of the Journal of Religion and Human, the "Double-Sided Blind Refereeing and Evaluation Process" operates in our journal. The editorial board is authorized in adverse situations that may occur during this process. Except for the legal processes, the journal management maintains the confidentiality of the referees.
b. Every article sent to the Journal of Religion and Human is sent to two independent referees outside the editorial board after the preliminary control of the technical editorial board. In case of a negative opinion of one of the referees, the manuscript is directed to a third referee or to the editor to make the final decision. The article is rejected upon the negative opinion of both referees.
c. The referees determined for each article are determined according to the content of that article.
d. Journal management encourages referees to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language.
e. It is essential that the referees assigned to the articles sent to our journal return on time and evaluate the relevant article by considering scientific criteria.
f. Referees assigned to an article submitted to our journal should make evaluations with minimum courtesy and avoid unfounded evaluations that may have unscientific or legal consequences.
PUBLICATION POLICY
1. The Journal of Religion and Human has started its publication life as an "International Refereed Journal" since 2021. The journal is an open-access journal and all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Except for commercial purposes, users are allowed to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
2. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December. The submitted manuscripts are published in the first available issue after the refereeing and editorial process is positive. It can also be published as a Special Issue. The publication of the Special Issue covering a specific subject is decided by the absolute majority of the Editorial Board.
3. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication.
4. If the articles are accepted for publication, the Journal of Religion and Human has all the publishing rights. The right to reproduce the entire published article is subject to the permission of the journal.
5. In case of quoting from the published articles, it is obligatory to indicate the source.
6. Our journal includes academic studies, compilations, article translations, symposiums and book promotions in the fields of religion, philosophy, social sciences and humanities.
7. Studies that have previously been presented in national or international congresses or symposiums and whose abstracts have been published can be sent by stating these qualities.
8. The manuscripts are checked by the editor(s) before they come to the editorial board to see if they are written in accordance with the rules: when an incomplete and/or incorrect determination is made, it is returned to the author with a pre-evaluation form for correction. Two referees are determined by the editorial board for the articles that are corrected and returned by the author or that are determined to be written in accordance with the rules. In line with the report from the referees; it is decided to include the article in the publication file, not to include it or to request a correction. The situation is reported to the author as soon as possible. If a correction is requested from the author, the correction must be made and sent to the journal within 20 days at the latest. The corrected text can be re-examined by the referees who request changes when deemed necessary. The articles included in the publication file are published in the order determined by the Editorial Board. The average evaluation period of an article submitted to the journal is approximately 45 days.
9. The languages of the journal are Turkish, Arabic and English. Abstracts and keywords in Turkish and foreign languages, not more than 250 words, should be placed at the beginning of each article to be published. Keywords should be 5 words each.
