Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Publication Policy and Ethical Principles
1. Publication Policy
1. "Dört Öge (Philosophy and History of Science Studies)" (ISSN: 2146-7064), abbreviated as "Dört Öge," is published twice a year, in "June" and "December."
2. Articles submitted to the journal should fall within the fields of "history of science," "philosophy," or theoretical "social/human sciences."
3. The journal publishes academic/scientific "Research Articles," "Translations," "Reviews," and "Book Reviews."
4. Works written in Turkish and English (and other languages upon the decision of the "Editorial Board") are accepted. Submitted works should not have been previously published, submitted for publication, or accepted for publication elsewhere.
5. Submitted works in Turkish should include "Öz" and "Anahtar Kelimeler" (Abstract and Keywords in Turkish) along with an English "Abstract" and "Keywords." They should be prepared according to the journal's "Writing Guidelines." For Turkish articles, an "Extended English Summary" is mandatory to increase the international circulation of the text. The "Extended English Summary" should be about 25% of the Turkish text and contain subheadings and citations like the Turkish text. Authors are expected to clearly present the argumentation structure of the Turkish text in the "Extended English Summary." This section should be added to the end of the text before the "References" section [Note: The "Extended English Summary" should be submitted after the article is accepted by the "Editorial Board" following the "Peer Review Process." Language and proofreading responsibilities lie with the author. Articles with insufficient language and proofreading will not be published].
6. All submissions are initially reviewed by the "Editorial Board" for content, academic originality, contribution to the field, writing guidelines compliance, etc. Only those passing this review undergo the "Peer Review Process," which uses a "double-blind peer review" system. An article must receive positive reports from both reviewers to be accepted for publication. If one report is positive and the other negative, the article is sent to a third reviewer. The decision to accept or reject the article is made by the "Editorial Board" based on the third reviewer's report.
7. The "Editorial Board" decides whether to publish the submitted works as they are, with partial revisions, or not at all, and informs the authors. Revisions must be submitted within one month.
8. The legal responsibility for the published works lies entirely with the authors, and the views expressed do not reflect those of "Dört Öge Journal" or its "Editorial Board."
9. Authors are not paid royalties for published works. The copyright of published works is transferred to "Dört Öge" (regardless of any explicit statement) and indicates acceptance of the "Open Journal Systems" rules set by "Tübitak DergiPark."
10. Before the editorial review process begins, a "Copyright Agreement" is signed with all authors. The process starts once this agreement is approved and submitted by the authors.
11. Works published in the journal may be cited with proper attribution.
2. Ethical Principles
"Dört Öge Journal" adheres to international research and publication ethics standards and complies with the ethical principles set by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA). 4. "Double-blind peer review" is applied to "Research Articles."
