Writing Rules

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Erciyes University Faculty of Health Sciences periodical, “ERÜ Faculty of Health Sciences Journal”, is published open access twice a year (June, December) every six months. Clinical and experimental research articles, case reports and literature reviews in various branches of the health field are accepted for evaluation provided that they have not been published anywhere before and have not been sent to another journal for publication. Authors are responsible for the compliance of the articles with scientific and ethical rules.

EVALUATION IN TERMS OF WRITING LANGUAGE
The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English. In Turkish studies, the Turkish Dictionary of the Turkish Language Association or the online dictionary at “https://sozluk.gov.tr” should be taken as basis. If available, the relevant branch associations’ own terminology dictionaries can also be used. English studies and English abstracts should be evaluated by an English language expert and/or a native speaker before being sent to the journal. If the person who evaluated the study in terms of English is not one of the authors, the name of this person should be stated in the “Acknowledgement” section at the end of the article. Studies sent to our journal for publication and accepted for publication as a result of the evaluation are checked by experts in the editorial board in terms of Turkish/English language. It is expected that the authors will correct the language errors and if deemed necessary, they can be corrected separately by the editorial board without affecting the scientific content of the study. The authors are deemed to have accepted these corrections.

ARTICLE EVALUATION PROCESS
Articles that are considered publishable from studies sent to the ERÜ Journal of Health Sciences Faculty are subject to a double-blind referee process. Each study sent to the journal with the intention of being published is subject to a preliminary review in terms of compliance with the writing rules. An editor is determined according to the subject of the studies that pass the preliminary review and the study is directed to this editor.

The relevant editor initiates the scientific evaluation process of the study by assigning two field referees to the study. The referee selection is made according to the subject of the study.
The identities of the authors, the institutions they work for and the institution/institutions where the study was conducted are kept confidential from the referees. Referees convey their own scientific opinions to the field editors on issues such as the scientific value of the study, methodology, appropriateness of statistical evaluations, adequacy of discussion of the data and whether the results reached are compatible with the data by filling out the “article evaluation form”. The relevant editor submits his/her opinion to the Journal Editorial Board with a general evaluation including the referee evaluation forms.
Referee comments, evaluations, criticisms and suggestions are electronically forwarded to the responsible author of the study. As in the case of sending the studies to the referees, the identities of the referees are not communicated to the author and are kept confidential during this process. In the studies sent back to the authors for the corrections requested by the referees, the necessary corrections are expected to be made within the period previously announced by the Journal and submitted for re-evaluation. All articles undergo an English language check and any errors are sent to the author for correction. The responsibility for following up on the studies sent to the author for the requested corrections belongs to the authors. In line with the recommendations of the referees, the author must upload the article to the system within the period determined by the Journal. If the article is not uploaded, the author is given additional time. Studies that are not uploaded to the system at the end of the second additional period are rejected.

PLATFORM OF THE MONTH

ERÜ Faculty of Health Sciences Journal is published electronically via the Tübitak-Dergipark online scientific journal publishing platform. The journal's web address is: https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/erusaglik. Submission of studies to the journal and process follow-up are carried out via the Dergipark system. In order to submit a study, all authors must first become members of the Dergipark platform. The journal's writing rules can be accessed electronically at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/erusaglik/writing-rules.

After the study is uploaded to Dergipark, an informative e-mail including the article's Dergipark ID number and title must be sent to the journal's e-mail address. For contact: https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/erusaglik/contacts
