Publication Review Policy

Article submitted to Hacettepe University Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences is pre-reviewed by the Editorial Board in terms of its suitability to the Journal’s Aim and Scope and Guide for Authors. An eligible article is sent to two reviewers for blind-review. In the case of one Reject and one Accept or Accept with Minor/Major Revision situation, the article is sent to a third reviewer. In case of Major Revision, the article may directly be rejected. When needed, the Editorial Board might send the article to more reviewers. In accordance with the decisions of reviewers, the article is either Rejected or Accepted with/without Revision. The revised article should be uploaded via DergiPark in a month. The revised article that is not re-submitted within a month will be accepted for reconsideration in later issues.

Special Issues

To contribute to the academic community by publishing high-quality, impactful research that aligns with the journal’s standards, the journal publishes special issues. Guest editors are required to submit a comprehensive proposal that outlines the theme, scope, and potential contributors for the special issue. This proposal is then reviewed by the editorial board for approval. Upon approval, authors submit their manuscripts, which undergo an initial editorial evaluation to assess their relevance to the issue’s theme, quality, and significance.

These manuscripts are then subjected to a double-blind peer review process, where expert reviewers evaluate them based on criteria such as originality, research methodology, contribution to the field, and writing clarity.

All articles should conform to the same quality standard as any journal paper. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject matter, and they are expected to provide timely and constructive feedback. Following the peer review, editorial decisions are made based on the reviewers' recommendations, with possible outcomes including acceptance, minor or major revisions, or rejection. Authors are informed of the decision and given a set timeframe to revise and resubmit their work.

Ethical guidelines, including plagiarism detection, research integrity, and conflict of interest disclosure, are strictly adhered to throughout the process.

A Guest Editor is not allowed to submit an article to the themed issue.

Once the articles are accepted, they are compiled into the special issue, and guest editors conduct a final review to ensure consistency and coherence. The special issue is then promoted through various academic platforms, with the possibility of open-access publication to maximize its visibility.

Manuscripts of Editorial Board Members

Members of the Editorial Board (excluding the Editor-in-Chief) may submit their own papers to the journal, but in such cases, they will be removed from all editorial duties for that paper. Peer review will be overseen by another Editorial Board member, and any conflicts of interest must be declared during submission and in the published article.
