Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to reveal the changes in the attitudes and behaviors of the Greeks in the period from the First World War to the occupation of İzmir, and the Greek activities that took place in and around the town of Söke. Especially Samos Island, which is just across Söke, has become the home of the Greeks who carry out such activities. Greek bandits from Greece and the islands did not only cause loss of life as a result of the murders they committed by merging with local Greek gangs. They also usurped the belongings and animals of Muslim Turks by engaging in robbery and plundering activities. In the whole process, the state has been exposed to the activities of hostile states, as well as Armenians and Greeks, such as rebellion and espionage. These; In addition to espionage, they also engaged in activities such as supporting the desertions of the conscripted Greeks, forming revolutionary committees and gangs, gathering intelligence, propaganda, and sabotage. The Greeks living in Söke and coming from the surrounding islands, while trying to bring the region under Greek rule, also did not hesitate to cooperate with the hostile states for this purpose.
