Litera: Journal of Language, Literature and Culture Studies - Dil, Edebiyat ve Kültür Araştırmaları Dergisi, which is the official publication of Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Western Languages is an open access, double-blind peer-reviewed, multilingual, scholarly and international journal published online two times a year in June and December. It was founded in 1954.
Litera - Journal of Language, Literature and Culture Studies publishes disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary, theoretical and applied research articles that focus on Western languages and literatures (American, English, French, German, Italian, Modern Greek and Spanish literatures) or examine literary texts in the framework of linguistics, cultural studies or media studies.. The objective of Litera is to publish scientific articles from both international and national communities and provide an intellectual platform for literary and cultural studies.
Western languages and literatures are the main fields of Litera’s scope. The journal welcomes articles from multidisciplinary approaches that focus on or include discussions of the aforementioned Western literatures and cultures. The target group of the Journal consists of academics, researchers, graduate students, and related professional and academic bodies and institutions. Litera publishes articles written in Turkish, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Litera does not accept the following types of articles for publication: articles that are derived from theses and dissertations; articles that are currently being considered for publication elsewhere; articles that were previously published in full text in conference proceedings; purely theoretical articles and literature reviews; manuscripts that are poorly written, contain language errors, and do not follow the style and format stated in the author guidelines; articles with a similarity index (citation rate) of more than 10%; manuscripts which were previously rejected for the journal’s evaluation process but resubmitted for the subsequent or later cycles.
