Plagiarism Policy

While it is the responsibility of the authors to verify the originality of the submitted article, this journal uses plagiarism detection software to check the originality of a submission. If necessary, the editorial team may also request a different plagiarism detection software report from the authors.

Archiving Policy

Izmir Journal of Social Sciences uses the LOCKSS system offered by DergiPark. For more information about the archiving system, visit the LOCKSS website.

Statistics

The statistics about the article are on the page where the related article is shown. The number of times the article was read and downloaded is given on the article page just below the author names. As an example, the article page at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/izsbd/issue/49441/605657 can be examined. Journal statistics can be seen under the cover image on the left side of the journal's homepage. As an example, https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/izsbd page can be examined.

Correction and withdrawal processes

Correction: During the pre-control phase, the corrections to be made in the article are notified to the author during the checks to be made by the Spell Control officer, the Pre-control officer, the Editor or the members of the Editorial Board, and the corrections are requested within the specified time. If the necessary corrections are not completed within the specified time, the article is rejected. Likewise, the changes requested in the referee evaluation process should be made within the specified time and uploaded to the system.
Withdrawal: Authors may withdraw their articles that have not passed the evaluation stage or have not been appointed as referees if they submit their requests to the Editor. In the withdrawal of the articles that have passed the referee evaluation process or have completed their processes, the evaluation of the rationale is made by the Editor and the board members. In the event that it is found appropriate and reasonable, the referees are informed that the process should be stopped and its reasons are tried to be ended.

Article reviewing period

An article reviewing processes are tried to be carried out as soon as possible. For this reason, the articles sent for evaluation are taken to preliminary evaluation as soon as possible without losing time. Articles that pass the pre-evaluation stage are sent to the evaluation stage. The deficiencies in the articles which cannot be passed are asked to the author to be corrected. The status of the articles that are decided to be rejected as a result of the pre-control is informed to the author immediately. At least two referees who are experts in their fields and have the title of doctor are appointed to the articles that reach the referee evaluation process. In case of need, the number of referees can be increased. Necessary information is given to the referees in order to conduct the referee process quickly and soundly. New referees are appointed to replace the referees who fail to return, and the process is followed regularly. As a result of the reviews of the referees, correction or rejection decision is notified to the author immediately. It is maintained with the same sensitivity in post-correction processes. The layout process of accepted articles is terminated by mutual communication with the authors and the article is published.

Repository policy

Many authors wish to deposit a copy of their paper in an institutional or another repository of their choice. Izmir Journal of Social Sciences, in accordance with the journal repository policy for each article of the authors published in the journal;
