Ethical Principles
According to the journal's policies, WMA's Declaration of Helsinki - Ethical Principles for Human Participation Medical Research - (latest update: October 2013, Fortaleza, Brazil), The Use and Care of Laboratory Animals The approval of an ethics committee that works in accordance with the Guidelines for (8th edition, 2011) and / or the International Guidelines for Biomedical Research on Animals (2012) is required. For experimental studies on humans, a sentence should be added to indicate that informed consent has been obtained after the detailed explanation of the procedures that can be performed from patients and volunteers. The journal may request a copy of the Ethics Committee Approval obtained from the relevant institution. Ethical Responsibilities
Editorial Board;
-JADEM - Journal of ADEM - Journal of Disaster of Emergency Medicine - Each article submitted to the Journal of Disaster and Emergency Medicine is evaluated independently.
The editorial board aims to continuously improve the quality of publications.
- The editorial board adopts and ensures that the publications are evaluated in the blind review process, in accordance with the journal policies, within the framework of the principles of publication and research ethics.
The editorial board keeps the records of the articles and their correspondence with the journal on the Dergipark system.
- The 'COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice' published by the editorial board 'Publication Ethics - COPE (https://publicationethics.org/)' Guidelines for Journal Editors (https://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf) and 'COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (https://publicationethics.org/files) /u2/Best_Practice.pdf)) and declares to comply with the ethical responsibilities listed below.
Editor, Assistant Editors and Field Editors;
-Editors strive to meet the information needs of referees, authors and readers.
-While deciding about the articles, it takes into account the aims of the journal, the originality of the articles, their contribution to the literature, and the validity of the methods used.
- It ensures that each article is evaluated within the blind refereeing rules, in line with objective and scientific data, and within its time.
- Articles are sent to the referees, taking into account their areas of expertise.
- Care is taken to protect the personal data and human and animal rights in the articles. It pays attention to submitting ethics committee approval and patient / participant consent documents.
Referees;
- The referees should evaluate the articles related to their field of expertise objectively, objectively and confidentially.
- The referees should not evaluate the article that has a conflict of interest-relationship of interest.
- The referees should take into account the Journal of ADEM Evaluation Form and use a constructive language in accordance with the academic rules, in time.
Writers;
Authors should not submit their articles to more than one journal for evaluation at the same time.
-People who cannot contribute to the article should not be added to the list of authors, it should not be suggested to change, add or remove authors during the authorship of the article accepted for publication.
- Ethics committee approval was obtained for researches requiring ethics committee approval; The name of the ethics committee, the meeting date and approval number should be indicated at the end of the article and the material and method (s) section of the article, and the document showing the ethics committee approval should be uploaded to the Dergipark system. In case reports, the informed consent form should be stated in and at the end of the article, and the signed consent form should be uploaded to the Dergipark system.
Authors must state the statement that they comply with the research and publication ethics in writing at the end of the article.
Plagiarism policy
We make a special effort to screen plagiarism during the peer review process. In case of suspicious plagiarism, your article will be rejected immediately and the institution where the authors work will be notified by the journal editors.
Journal of ADEM Journal works with the highest research and publishing ethical standards. All submitted texts are scanned during the evaluation process to identify examples of conflicts and similar texts with plagiarism software (iThenticate®). Having high similarity scores (20%) can cause a text to be rejected.
If editors suspect an ethical error, they will comply with international guidelines on publishing and research ethics (COPE guidelines, WAME resources, WMA policies and ORI).
Conflict of interest policy
The editorial evaluation process of the Journal of ADEM Journal is in accordance with the good editorial practices of international editorial organizations. (WAME, COPE)
Evaluating the responsibilities of a writer, referee or editor in the WAME evaluation process (submission of the text to the journal, referee evaluation, editorial decisions and communication between authors, referees and editors) (academic honesty, research and reporting without bias, decision-making and accuracy of evaluations) It states that there is a conflict of interest when there is a competing interest that may unfairly affect the process.
For the Journal of ADEM Journal, each author, referee and editor must clearly state this in case of any personal, familial, financial, political, religious or any conflict of interest that falls within the above definition of WAME.
Whether there is a conflict of interest or financial support, this should be reported both in the Conflict of Interest Statement and at the end of the texts. If a referee, assistant editor or section editor thinks that there is a conflict of interest for a particular article, or that there is no suitable referee or editor for this article, that referee or editor should withdraw from the given post.
You will be asked to verify whether there are potential conflicts of interest listed in the ICMJE guidelines for all authors (please see these at www.icmje.org). In particular, any authors' or authors' organizations' donations, consultation fees or fees, participation in meetings and support for travel, participation in refereeing activities such as data monitoring committees or statistical analysis, fees charged for writing, helping or reviewing the text will be asked if he has received fees and / or medicines, equipment, or management support. Positive answers to all these questions should also be stated on the title page of the text.
Members of the Editorial Board of the Journal of ADEM can also submit their articles to the journal. However, the publishing works of their articles cannot be included in any stage of the decision-making process. They will also be treated like any author, and if their writings are to be accepted, this acceptance can be made after the positive notification of at least two external referees.
Authors should not contact any of the section editors during the evaluation process. All necessary information regarding the evaluation of a manuscript can be obtained from the editorial office. In addition, the names of the editors and referees who are interested in the article are not given to the authors. According to the double-blind evaluation principles of the Journal of ADEM, the authors and referees do not know each other's names.
You will be asked to provide information for all authors on the existence or absence of all financial relationships in the biomedical field over the past 36 months that could be perceived as or potentially affect your writing in your submitted work. Examples of this include board memberships, consulting, work, expertise, donations / pending donations, fees for speeches including speaker bureaus, payments for writing, skates (scheduled, pending, or printed), royalties, for the development of educational presentations. There are, but are not limited to, payments, stock / stock options, other travel, accommodation and meeting expenses. All responses, positive or negative, should also be written on the title page (and if the article is accepted, these will also be printed).
Open Access Policy
Journal of ADEM Journal is a scientific journal of Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine. It can be printed, read and downloaded on Dergipark.
Other Printing Policies
Original Content: Journal of ADEM prefers to print original research articles as they provide higher grade evidence. All articles containing original information and data should not have been published elsewhere or sent to another scientific journal for simultaneous publication. This restriction does not apply to scientific studies and abstracts presented in congresses.
Multiple authors: All authors share responsibilities and duties regarding the preparation and content of the submitted manuscript.
Statistical Consultant: All articles containing statistical analysis should be prepared under the consultancy of a person experienced in statistical analysis of that subject. One of the authors or a person who is experienced in statistical analysis other than the authors should take responsibility for the accuracy of the statistical information.
Permissions: Written permission must be obtained for the facsimile of all submitted materials, eg tables and figures previously published in another magazine or book. Written informed consent must be obtained from appropriate ethics committees for original research and from patients for case report, case series or image.
Previous or similar publications: You will be asked if there is a previous version of the same text or study submitted to the Journal of ADEM with a different submission order and / or article number. In addition, it will be asked whether the data used in this study are used in another article (published, sent or prepared).
Access to Data: Journal of ADEM Editors may ask authors to submit original data in order to better evaluate the article during the peer review process. For this reason, it is important to send both the full address and other contact information on the title page.
Responsibility of published information: Authors are responsible for all information in their texts. Journal of ADEM Journal cannot be held responsible for the statements of the authors.

Article Evaluation Process
Articles uploaded to the Dergipark system are reviewed by the Front Secretariat Unit within 2 weeks. If missing documents are detected during this review process, the authors are asked to complete the missing documents. Editor and Assistant / Field Editor are appointed for the articles whose documents are completed. Each article is evaluated by at least 2 referees and 1 assistant / field editor.
Research articles;
The period foreseen for referees for research articles is 14 days. If the referees request additional time or the referee is delayed in the evaluation, this period may be extended by 1 week. If the referee does not accept the evaluation within the time limit or if the referees have equality in their positive and negative opinions, the editors may request additional referee evaluation.
Case Reports and Letters to the Editor;
The peer review period foreseen for case reports and letters to the editor is 14 days. Referees request additional time or referee consider
Review articles;
Review articles are requested by the editorial board from experts. Review articles uploaded to the system are also evaluated by the referees and editorial board within 14 days.
Correction and Withdrawal Process
Correction Process;
Authors must make revisions suggested by the editorial board within 14 days. Authors should submit their requests for additional time for revision to the editorial board.
Articles that are not revised within the revision period or whose revisions are not accepted by the authors are deemed to have been rejected by the editorial board.
Withdrawal Process;
Authors can withdraw their articles at every stage (pre-secretariat, referee evaluation stage) before the article evaluation process reaches the decision stage.
Authors' withdrawal request for articles that have reached the decision stage (accepted, rejected or revised):
- The editorial board evaluates the withdrawal request for the articles that are accepted.
- In the case of a withdrawal request for articles with rejection / revision decision, the article is considered rejected.
