Writing Rules

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

The language of KAREFAD is Turkish and English.

Original research articles and review articles that have not been published anywhere before and are not under evaluation anywhere are published.

References in articles should be cited according to APA 7th edition rules.

The full text of the article should be between 3500-7000 words, excluding abstract, abstract, bibliography and appendices.

At the beginning of each article, there should be a Turkish and an English Abstract not exceeding 250 words. Abstracts should be followed by 3 to 6 Keywords/Keywords.

The article should be written in Times New Roman 11 font size, single-spaced and A4 size. Page margins should be set as left 2 cm, right 2 cm, top 2,5 cm and bottom 2,5 cm. There should be no spelling at the end of the lines.

Tables, figures, pictures, graphs and charts to be used in the text should not exceed the page size of the journal. No font size smaller than 10 points should be used in these items. Each table, figure or graph should be numbered sequentially and titled. The titles of tables and charts should be at the top and the titles of figures and graphs should be at the bottom.

Titles of works and articles should be written in sentence order with only the first word and proper nouns capitalised. According to APA 7, it is not necessary to give the location/city information of the publisher. Punctuation marks should be placed after citations.

The article of the same author cannot be published in two consecutive issues. In addition, maximum two articles of one author can be included in KAREFAD.

Scales, questionnaires or other materials used in the research process should be given in the appendices. Each appendix should start from a new page.

Personal information such as author's name, title, institutional information and contact details should not be included in the full text of the article. Author personal information, funding/support information (if any), conflict of interest and author contribution declarations should be uploaded to the system separately from the full text of the article under the title page. If there is any additional information about the article (such as the fact that the article has been presented at a symposium before or that it is produced from a thesis study), these should also be included on the title page.

In all scientific researches that require ethics committee approval, ethics committee approval must be obtained and must be clearly stated and documented in the article. The ethics committee document should be uploaded to the system as an additional file.

IN-TEXT CITATION PRINCIPLES
When referencing a source within the text, the author’s surname, publication year, and page number should be used. Note: If more than one work by the same author in the same year is cited, letters a, b, c, etc., should be added to the publication year. Example: (Çapar, 2023a), (Çapar, 2023b).
