Publication Policy
Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Journal is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to ensure the highest standards of publication ethics. All parties involved in the publishing act (editors, authors, reviewers and the publisher) must agree on standards of ethical conduct.
Throughout the editorial and article publication processes of our journal; Based on Elsevier recommendations and the Publication Ethics Committee's Code of Conduct and Best Practice for Journal Editors; Basic approaches recommended by international organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAMA), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) are adopted.
• Kocatepe Veterinary Journal is the peer-reviewed scientific journal of Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and its short name is Kocatepe Vet J.
• Our magazine is published 4 issues a year, in March, June, September and December.
• Articles submitted to our journal must be original. The whole or a large part of the article must not have been published elsewhere or sent elsewhere for evaluation.
• All articles submitted to our journal for publication must be examined using a professional plagiarism program (Ithenticate or Turnitin). The report must be uploaded to the system by the author. Articles with a similarity rate above 20% as a result of the control are rejected or revision may be requested by our editorial board.
• Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all data and results contained in the submitted articles and for any liability that may arise. Our journal editors do not have the authority to decide on the accuracy of the data.
• Submitted articles are checked by our editorship, and if deemed appropriate, they are sent to referee evaluation with a double-blind referee system.
• Articles sent to our journal must be academic studies and in a format that can be reviewed by referees. For this reason, writers must be knowledgeable and experienced in their field.
• The sources used in the article should be stated in the text, and each cited source should be presented in the references section of the article.
• If there are institutions or organizations that provide support to the article, they should be thanked and necessary explanations should be made in the relevant section of the article.
• Authors must include the authors' ORCID numbers, author contributions, conflict of interest and ethics committee information on the title page of the article.
• Authors must accept all responsibilities for the articles they submit to our journal and transfer the copyright to Kocatepe Veterinary Journal. Authors of articles sent to our journal must fill out the "Copyright Transfer Agreement" document, sign it with a wet signature and upload it to the system. Articles of authors who do not submit the Copyright Transfer Agreement with wet signature will not be taken into consideration.
• Personal information such as names and e-mail addresses entered into the Kocatepe Veterinary Journal management system will be used only for the scientific purposes of this journal. This information will not be used for any other purpose and will not be shared with third parties.
Ethical Principles
• Experimental, clinical, pharmaceutical, etc. conducted on animals. All studies are described in the Animal Welfare Act, US Public Health Service Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, National Research Council's Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research and Teaching. must be carried out in accordance with the conditions.
• If animal materials are used in the submitted studies, an approval certificate must be obtained from the "Local Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments". In studies that require an ethics committee decision, the Ethics Committee Approval Certificate must be uploaded to the system at the application stage. For research conducted in other fields, approval documents from the relevant ethics committees must be uploaded during the application. Studies without ethics committee approval will not be evaluated. In addition, information regarding "Ethics Committee Approval" (Board name, date, number and number) and information regarding "Local Ethics Committee approval has been received and ethics committee principles are complied with" must be included in the relevant section on the title page.
• For studies that do not require an ethics committee, authors must declare that no ethics committee approval is required and must upload this document to the system during the application. If the Editor/Editorial Board decides that the study requires Ethics Committee Approval during the preliminary review phase, the article will not be evaluated.
• Written and signed “patient owner consent document” in case reports; For studies such as data collection, survey, etc. that concern public or private institutions, the approval/permission document of the relevant institution/organization must be uploaded during the application.
• The author should not submit his/her article to more than one journal simultaneously for evaluation.
• In order to evaluate the article beyond doubt, editors and referees have the right to request raw data from the author.
