Journal of Spatial Research publishes original scientific research studies in the field of design and planning. The manuscripts submitted to the journal are expected to address current issues in the field of Architecture, Design and Planning and encourage researchers to engage in scientific discussions.
In the subject areas of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and Landscape Architecture;

The journal covers these subject areas but is open to original scientific studies that are interdisciplinary and related to space.
The journal publishes original scientific research articles that have not been published elsewhere before and have not been submitted to another journal for publication at the same time, addressing a problem within a specific method framework in current topics in the field and contributing to the existing literature. The journal follows an open-access policy and the full texts of the published articles are accessible electronically, and online.
Types of Articles
Research Article: Original scientific research articles that define the problem based on a theoretical ground, and include the results and discussions obtained through a specific method. The word count of these articles, including abstract, text, and references, should not exceed 7500 and the page count should not exceed 20. They are decided to be published after the double-blind peer review process.
Review: Research articles that present the existing knowledge within a specific field or topic and make evaluations in light of this information, identify a specific problem by the researcher, propose solutions, or develop methods by interpreting the literature knowledge in the field. The word count of these articles, including abstract, text, and references, should not exceed 6500 and the page count should not exceed 20. They are decided to be published after the double-blind peer review process.
Opinion: Texts in which the author presents his/her views on the strengths and weaknesses of a hypothesis or scientific theory. These types of articles are based on constructive criticism and are supported by evidence. These articles reflect scientific discourses that challenge the current state of knowledge in a specific field. Opinion articles do not exceed 1500 words and are accepted only by invitation within the scope of the journal. The peer review process is not conducted for these articles.

These articles are limited to 1,000 words and no peer review process is conducted for publication.
Book Review: Articles that provide general information to readers and researchers about the book that is introduced and criticized, encourage reading the book, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the book, and guide future research on this topic. Reviews can be descriptive, which provides basic information about the book without evaluation, or critical, which evaluates and make some judgments about the book. In a critical book review, it is expected that the reviewer will reveal what he/she understood from the purpose of the book and the author, to what extent the author succeeded in this, and the scientific quality and significance of the book (Şişman, 2005). These articles are limited to 1000-1500 words and no peer review process is conducted for publication.
