He was born in Izmir. He graduated from Bornova Anadolu Lisesi (Gymnasium in German) in 2001 and from Ankara University, Department of International Relations in 2006. In the same year, he started his Ph.D. in Political Science at Ankara University and awarded the TUBITAK's (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) Scholarship for graduate students. He started to work as a research assistant in Izmir University of Economics, Department of Political Science and International Relations in 2008. In 2011, he conducted his doctoral research in Tuebingen Eberhard Karls University under supervision of Prof. Otfried Höffe for three months. In 2012-2013 academic year, he was awarded with TUBITAK International Ph.D. Research Fellowship and spent two quarters at Northwestern University as a visiting scholar under supervision of Prof.Bonnie Honig. He acquired Ph.D. degree in 2015 with his dissertation on the political philosophy of cosmopolitanism. He continues thinking on citizenship, cosmopolitanism, ethics, and contemporary political theory with a particular emphasis on the political thoughts of Hannah Arendt, Jürgen Habermas and Seyla Benhabib.
