Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
• Studies submitted to our journal should not have been published anywhere before.
• Articles sent to our journal should not be sent to other journals for evaluation simultaneously.
• The legal responsibility that may arise from the studies published elsewhere but not reported or the content of the studies published in our journal belong entirely to the authors.
• Authors should not directly contact people who are involved in the process, such as the referee and editor, before and after the evaluation process.
• Quotations from other sources should be stated accurately and completely.
• The submitted articles and the plagiarism report should also be uploaded to the system.
• Author changes cannot be proposed for articles whose evaluation process has been completed and accepted for publication.
• Persons who do not contribute to the article should not be mentioned as authors.
• If the articles are supported by any person, institution, or organization, they must be stated in the study.
• Situations and relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest should be disclosed.
• If raw data of the article is requested, these data should be sent by the author.
• Ethics committee approval should be obtained for research that requires data collection from participants.
• Ethics committee approval should be obtained for studies using humans and animals for experimental/clinical or other scientific purposes.
• The ethics committee approval obtained should be stated in the article (name of the committee, date, and issue number) and documented.
• Measurement tools such as scales and questionnaires belonging to others should be used with the permission of the owner and should be mentioned in the article.
• It should be stated that the copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used should be respected and complied with.
• Authors are obliged to consider and fulfill the opinions and correction suggestions of the referees.
• Authors can object, provided that they show evidence against the opinions of the referees.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
• Editors are responsible for every article published in the journal and must keep all records in the system.
• Editors should be impartial and ensure that the review process is completed on time.
• Expert referees should be appointed in accordance with the subject of the article.
• Editor should apply the principles of double-blind refereeing. The identities of referees and authors should be kept confidential.
• Editor should consider whether there is a conflict of interest between the referees and the authors.
• The confidentiality of the reports sent to the journal by the authors and referees should be preserved.
• According to the referee evaluation process, the editor decides to approve, reject or publish it after corrections.
• Editor has the right to edit, publish or not publish the studies submitted to the journal.
• Editor should evaluate articles impartially within the framework of scientific and ethical rules, without considering the race, gender, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship, or political opinion of the authors.
• Editor should use the Dergi Park electronic submission system for communications.
• Editor should not make decisions about the work editor wrote or is associated with.
• Editor should use plagiarism programs to detect abuses.
• Editor is responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all articles published in the journal.
• Editor should assign at least two referees during the article evaluation process. If necessary, an editor can assign a 3rd or 4th referee to the article.
• Editor should not ask for citations to his or her own articles or previous work published in the journal.
• Editor is responsible for publishing the articles in accordance with the journal publication policies and international standards.
Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
• Referees should not review the articles outside their field, they should only accept the studies related to their own field.
• Referee should follow up the evaluation period and complete the article evaluation process with impartiality and confidentiality.
• Referee should perform the evaluation process objectively, regardless of personal characteristics based on gender, religion, political, commercial conflicts, citizenship, etc.
• When the referee thinks he or she is facing a conflict of interest, he or she should refuse to evaluate the article and inform the journal editor about it.
• While evaluating the article, the referee should use gentle language and style. The referee should avoid offensive, derogatory, insulting, slanderous, and hostile comments and expressions.
• Referee can suggest citations that will contribute to the authors' work scientifically but should not make suggestions to increase the number of his or her own citations.
• If the personal information of the authors is accessed, the evaluation process should be terminated.
• For the rejected articles, the referee should state the reasons for rejection clearly and in detail in the referee report.
