About

The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies[OSMED] is a peer-reviewed journal published in 2015 and includes authentic research in the field of Ottoman History and Ottoman Civilization.

The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [OSMED] is published fourth a year, these publication months being March, June, September, and December. If it is seen as necessary, the special issue(s) are published as well. The journal also publishes a promotion of scientific translation and books.

The author(s) are responsible for the ideas and viewpoints in the scientific articles published in The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [OSMED]. The articles sent to be published are sent to at least two experts in their fields using the two-sided blind referee principle. In the case of one of the referee's negative assessments, the text is sent to a third referee. The last is the journal advice, and the publication board makes decisions. To execute the two-sided blind referee method, the authors must not include any information in their text's identity information before adding their texts to the system. Author information will be added later by the editors in the correction step.

The authors who submit their articles to the journal are assumed to agree to give their articles' copyrights to the journal. All accepted publications' publication rights belong to The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [OSMED].

OSMED organizes or supports in-country or abroad academic conferences, symposiums, workshops, etc. It includes the full versions of the proclamations submitted in these studies, only if it is not published elsewhere.

The studies sent to be published in the Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [OSMED] are examined by editors or section editors regarding whether they oblige to the journal's publication principles. If the study is in alliance with the journal's publication principles, it is then sent to at least two referees for evaluation. In the case of a stated negative review from one of the referees, it is sent to a third referee. The studies' similarity reports are deducted before they are sent to the referees by Turnitin and iThenticate programs. If the similarity is above the %25, the text is returned to its author. The similarity reports of studies taken into the publication process are sent to the referees for information.
