Review Process and Publication
All manuscripts submitted to SMJ undergo an initial assessment to ensure compliance with the journal’s instructions for authors, language standards, scientific contribution, and originality. Manuscripts deemed inadequate or noncompliant with these guidelines may be rejected before undergoing peer review.
Scientific articles submitted to the journal are evaluated by Editors and expert reviwers in the relevant field. The review process follows a blind peer review policy. If necessary, the Editor-in-Chief may assign a Editor to review the article or personally conduct the scientific assessment. Editors may also appoint reviewers to assess the article and base their decisions on their reports. The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
Articles are accepted for publication in accordance with the journal’s instructions for authors, which can be accessed on the SMJ website. Submission implies that the article has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration for publication in another journal. Authors must certify, via the Copyright Transfer Form, that neither the manuscript nor its primary content has been previously published or submitted for publication in another journal.
