Dr. İsmail Kırbaş completed his Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Education at Sakarya University and currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, where he also holds the position of Director at the HAYTEK Collaborative Application Research Center. Dr. Kırbaş’s research focuses on wireless body area network protocols, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and machine learning. With a strong academic background, including a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Kocaeli University, he has led a variety of innovative projects throughout his career.
Dr. Kırbaş’s work significantly contributes to digital transformation across sectors such as agriculture and healthcare, utilizing artificial intelligence and data mining techniques. Actively involved as both a researcher and project leader in numerous national and international projects, Dr. Kırbaş has a robust portfolio of scientific publications and patents, underscoring his impactful presence in the field.
Dr. Aytuğ Onan received his BS. in Computer Engineering from Izmir University of Economics (Turkey) in 2010. He earned his MS in Computer Engineering and PhD in Computer Engineering from Ege University (Turkey) in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He has been working as “Full Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering” since January 2024 at the Department of Computer Engineering of Izmir Katip Celebi University (Turkey). He has been reviewing for several international journals including Expert Systems with Applications, Plos One and International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics. He has published several journal papers on machine learning and computational linguistics. Dr. Onan entered the lists of “Most Influential Scientists of the World- 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 (Five Consecutive Years)” created by a research team led by Dr. John Ioannidis from Stanford University, USA. In addition, he has received “Highly Cited Researchers Award 2023” by Clarivate.
Aybars Uğur is a full-time professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. He received his BS, MSc and PhD degrees in computer engineering from Ege University, Izmir, Turkey, in 1993, 1996, 2001, respectively. His research interests are artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, optimization, swarm intelligence, intelligent systems and computer graphics.
Dr. Utku Kose received the B.S. degree in 2008 from computer education of Gazi University, Turkey as a faculty valedictorian. He received M.S. degree in 2010 from Afyon Kocatepe University, Turkey in the field of computer and D.S. / Ph. D. degree in 2017 from Selcuk University, Turkey in the field of computer engineering. Between 2009 and 2011, he has worked as a Research Assistant in Afyon Kocatepe University. Following, he has also worked as a Lecturer and Vocational School - Vice Director in Afyon Kocatepe University between 2011 and 2012, as a Lecturer and Research Center Director in Usak University between 2012 and 2017, and as an Assistant Professor in Suleyman Demirel University between 2017 and 2019. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey. He has more than 200 publications including articles, authored and edited books, proceedings, and reports. He is also in editorial boards of many scientific journals and serves as one of the editors of the Biomedical and Robotics Healthcare (CRC Press) and Computational Modeling Applications for Existential Risks (Elsevier) book series. His research interest includes artificial intelligence, machine ethics, artificial intelligence safety, biomedical applications, optimization, the chaos theory, distance education, e-learning, computer education, and computer science.
Nadir Yilmaz is a professor and the department chair of Mechanical Engineering at Howard University, as well as, a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) and consultant. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Bradley University and New Mexico State University, respectively. He is a Fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International). He has been a noted author of many publications in the fields of combustion, CFD, rocket propulsion and automotive engineering. He was a NASA Academic Mission Services (NAMS) Faculty Researcher, and a U.S. Department of Energy Visiting Faculty at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories. He has educated and mentored many underrepresented minority and female students via various STEM programs including the NSF-funded AMP (Alliance for Minority Participation) program.
Dr. Yilmaz serves as the Editor-In-Chief for the SAE International Journal of Fuels and Lubricants and as a member of the editorial board of numerous international journals. In addition, he serves on SAE Foundation Board of Trustees, NSPE Education Foundation Board of Trustees, New Mexico AMP Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Society of Automotive Engineers of Turkey. Dr. Yilmaz has also served as the Past Chair of SAE Education Board, NSPE Higher Education Executive Board, ASEE Aerospace Division, SAE Washington DC Section and ASME New Mexico Section. In a Governor-appointed position, Dr. Yilmaz previously served on the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors.
