Editorial Process
As the Journal of Siirt University Social Sciences Institute, we attach importance to an objective and independent publication policy. Articles sent to the journal are first pre-reviewed by the journal editors. After this stage, the editors and the Editorial Board examine the article's compliance with the journal's publishing principles, and those deemed appropriate are assigned to the field editors. In addition, articles that do not comply with the journal publication principles are rejected. Field editors examine the articles in terms of their contribution to the field and give their opinion on whether the article should be evaluated or not. When deciding on the suitability and publication of articles, the editor(s) take into consideration the journal's publication policy and scientific sensitivity, not factors such as the race, gender, belief, or nationality of the author(s).
Double Blind Arbitration Process
Siirt University Social Sciences Institute Journal has adopted the double-blind peer review model. Referees are preferred among experts who have a doctorate degree in the field of science to which the article in our journal relates and who have published publications on the subject. Information about experts working at universities in Turkey can be found on the YÖK Academic website, and information about experts abroad can be accessed from Publons. Every article (including book promotions) sent to our journal is directed to at least two referees with doctor titles after meeting the necessary prerequisites. If the article receives a positive report from both referees, it is published in our journal with the approval of the editor. If deemed necessary, it may be sent to the third referee. If both referees give a negative report, the article will not be published. If one of the referees gives a positive opinion and the other gives a negative opinion, the article is sent to a third referee, with the editor having the right to dispose of it, and the process regarding the article continues according to the result. For an article for which a referee recommends a correction, the author is required to upload a correction file to the system within 15 days at the latest. The evaluation process will be terminated for the articles of the authors who do not upload the corrected text within 15 days following the referee's correction suggestion and the article will be rejected. While the articles are being uploaded to the system, the author's name, address, institution, etc. information should not be included.
The peer review process is critical to maintaining the standards of our publications. As a journal, we adhere to the principle of double-blind refereeing;
* We aim to provide support to facilitate rigorous, fair and effective peer review of all our publications,
* We aim to encourage our editors and reviewers to become familiar with and comply with peer-review best practice guidelines.
We act with an uncompromising principle to protect the confidentiality of authors and referees during the peer-review process, with the principle that confidentiality is a part of the evaluation process. In this context, reviewers and author(s) never know each other.
The period given to the referees to evaluate the article is 20 days. However, referees who do not complete the evaluation within this period are given an additional 10 days. The evaluation process of an article that has been pre-reviewed and passed through the editor, editorial board, field editor and referee processes may take approximately 6-8 weeks.
Authors must take into account the criticism, suggestions and correction requests of the referees and the Editorial Board. If there are any issues they do not accept, they have the right to challenge their reasoning.
