Prof. Dr. Umit Halis ERDOGAN graduated from the textile engineering department of Ege University, Izmir, Turkey, in 1998. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in textile engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir. He has been a full professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at Dokuz Eylul University, since 2013 and he is currently head of the textile science group in the same department. His research interests include natural and chemical fibers, composite materials, nonwovens, geotextiles, biodegradable fibers and textile recycling. He has many papers on fiber science and composite materials. He is a member of National Cotton Council, International Geosynthetic Society and Turkish Chamber of Textile Engineers. He is also the editor of the scientific journal “Tekstil ve Mühendis”.

Gizem Ceylan Türkoğlu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Textile Engineering at Dokuz Eylul University. Her areas of expertise include microcapsules, medical textiles, biopolymers, electrospinning, hydrogels, technical textiles, and textile finishing. Her academic work has been published in national and international journals, and she actively participates in various research projects.
