Gediz

Having hosted many states throughout history, Gediz is considered a city of ancient civilizations with a history dating back approximately 3000 years. Founded by the Phrygians, the city remained under the rule of the Lydian, Persian, Macedonian and Roman Empires. After the Seljuks and Germiyanids, the city began to be ruled by the Ottomans and has remained under the rule of the Turks until today. Gediz, which does not only have historical importance, has an important place for the culture and tourism of the region with its ski resort, hot springs, tarhana, endemic plants and unique natural beauties. In this context, it is planned to publish a special issue with the theme of “City of Civilizations: Gediz” as the Society, Economy and Management Journal. The aim of the special issue is to bring studies that address the historical, economic, social and cultural dimensions of the subject to the academy.
