İçerisinde yaşamış olduğumuz an olan zaman, farklı biyolojik, zihinsel, fiziksel, psikolojik, sosyolojik boyutları olan bir olgu olarak da açıklanabilir. Kronoloji ise zaman bilimi olarak ifade edilmektedir. Doğasında geçmişte yaşanılan zamanı açıklamak bulunan tarih dersi, konularını öğretirken zaman ve kronolojiden yararlanmaktadır. Türk Eğitim Sistemi’nde tarih içerikli konular genellikle temel eğitimde Hayat Bilgisi, Sosyal Bilgiler, TC. İnkılap Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük, ortaöğretimde ise Tarih derslerinde öğretilmektedir. Bu derslerin öğretim programlarında zaman ve kronolojiye vurgu yapılmakta, zaman ve kronolojiye ilişkin konuların öğretilmesinde zaman şeritlerinin kullanılması önerilmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı tarih öğretiminde kuramsal ve uygulamaya dönük yönleriyle zaman şeritlerini tanıtmaktır. Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında zaman ve kronoloji kavramları ele alınarak öğretim programları doğrultusunda tarih öğretiminde zaman ve kronolojinin yeri açıklanmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise zaman şeritlerine ilişkin kuramsal bilgilere yer verilmiş, son olarak da yapılan sınıflama ışığında örneklerle zaman şeritlerinin türleri ele alınmıştır.

AN EDUCATION MATERIAL on TEACHING TIME and CHRONOLOGY: TIMELINES
Abstract: Time is a moment in which we are living now and time can be explained as a phenomenon which has biological, intellectual, physical psychological and sociological aspects. Chronology is defined as a science of time. History course which explains the nature of time living in the past uses time and chronology. In Turkish Educational System, history related subjects are taught through some courses in primary education like Life Studies, Social Studies, Turkish Revolution History, and in secondary education like History. In the curricula of these courses, the importance of teaching time and chronology subjects are stated and the usage of timelines in these courses are suggested. The aim of this study is to introduce the theoretical and practical usage of timelines in history education. In the first stage of the study, time and chronology concepts were explained and the place of time and chronology in history education were explored toward curricula. In the second stage, the theoretical aspects of timelines were informed and in the last stage the types of timelines were handled with examples in the light of classification, developed by researchers.

2- Early Release:
According to the TUHED's new publication policy, the articles which have completed the evaluation process will be published online-first. It will no longer be necessary for manuscripts to wait until the “next issue”. Early Release articles will receive an international identification code (DOI), and identified page numbers.
3- Ethics Committee Approval:
In accordance with the ULAKBİM decision of 25 February 2020, Ethics Committee Approval must be obtained for studies on people (without age restrictions), this approval must be specified in the Method section of the article and signed Ethics Committee Approval must be uploaded to the system. Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for publication.
4- New Publication Policy
Beginning from Spring 2021 issue TUHED will require all Turkish manuscripts to contain a full-text English translation. Manuscripts submitted in Turkish will be requested to have full-text English translation if they are accepted for publication after the review process.
