The aim of the research is to examine the effects of the attribution of
the "History Science and Human" unit with the cemetery visits in the
9th grade history course over the academic achievement and attitudes of the
students. The study group of research which was carried through in a high
school located in Of district belongs to Trabzon province in 2016-2017 academic
semester constitutes of 66 students at 9th grade (two branches).In the study,
pretest-posttest experimental pattern with control group were used. The
research data were obtained from the academic achievement test and the history
course attitude scale. Prior to the application, History Science and Human Unit
Academic Achievement Test and History Course Attitude Scale were carried out as
a pre-test for both groups. Lessons were carried out in the experimental group
by visiting cemeteries, as for in the control group it was carried out in
accordance with lectures, question-answer and discussion methods and
techniques. The same scales were applied as posttest to the experimental and
control groups after the application. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation,
independent groups t-test were used in the analysis of the data, and
significance level was taken as p <0.5. According to the independent groups
t-test analysis results it seems that if we compare academic achievement scores
of the experimental and control groups, a significant difference was found in
favor of the experimental group. When the attitude scores were assessed, there
was no difference between the groups in terms of pretest scores, and the scores
of the experimental group were found to be significantly higher than the
posttest scores. When experimental and control group's attitude scores were
compared, the posttest scores of the experimental group were seemed to be
significantly higher than the control group's posttest scores.
Araştırmanın amacı, 9.
sınıf tarih dersinde “Tarih Bilimi ve İnsan” ünitesinin mezarlık ziyaretleri
ile ilişkilendirilmesinin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ve tutumları
üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Trabzon
ili Of ilçesi dâhilinde bir lisede gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın çalışma
grubunu 66 9. Sınıf (iki şube) öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada,
öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri
akademik başarı testi ve tarih dersi tutum ölçeği ile elde edilmiştir. Uygulama
öncesinde her iki gruba Tarih Bilimi ve İnsan Ünitesi Akademik Başarı Testi ve
Tarih Dersi Tutum Ölçeği öntest olarak uygulanmıştır. Dersler deney grubunda
mezarlık ziyareti gerçekleştirilerek, kontrol grubunda ise anlatım, soru cevap
ve tartışma yöntem ve tekniklerine göre işlenmiştir. Uygulama sonrasında deney
ve kontrol gruplarına aynı ölçekler sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Verilerin
analizinde aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, bağımsız gruplar t-testi
kullanılmış, anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.5 olarak alınmıştır. Bağımsız gruplar
t-testi analiz sonuçlarına göre, deney ve kontrol gruplarının akademik başarı
puanları karşılaştırıldığında deney grubu lehinde anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur.
Tutum puanları değerlendirildiğinde ön test puanları açısından gruplar arasında
bir fark görülmezken son test puanlarına göre deney grubunun puanları anlamlı
düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının tutum puanları
karşılaştırıldığında deney grubunun son test puanları kontrol grubunun son test
puanlarından anlamlı düzeyde yüksek çıktığı görülmüştür.
