The aim of this research is to examine and reveal the
teaching materials of the lessons of History and Citizenship in the late
Ottoman and early Republican periods. Qualitative research approach has been
adopted in this research. When research period is examined, it seems that
studies have been made to support education with oral, written and visual
materials. Teaching materials are provided by the government but also some materials
are ordered from abroad when needed. Alternative material proposals have been
presented by field experts for costly materials. It can be said that the
obstacles have been tried to be overcome in order to increase the quality of education.
It is very important to take initiatives in order to overcome the deficiencies
in the education system during these periods when many material and spiritual
deficiencies are experienced. In the light of all this, it appears that the
initiatives related to the use of teaching materials in research-related
periods are not to be underestimated.
