The aim of this study is to examine the production of History II textbook for the 7th grade and its content which was authored by Ali Haydar Taner, famous Turkish psychologist in 1940. It was used between 1940-1948 by the decision of the Board of Education.
Three sub-problems will be answered in this study;
Pedagogical criticisms of History I-II-III for the middle schools, published in 1934 made it necessary to establish commissions by the Ministry of National Education to solve the problems after 1937. After 1940, Ali Haydar Taner's name was seen on History II for the 7th grade. The Ministry of National Education organized the Second National Education Council in 1943 to legitimate revisions of history curriculum and history textbooks written in Atatürk’s period. In Turkey, radical changes in history curricula in the past prevented history textbooks from evolving.
Haydar Taner’in (1883-1956) ismini
taşıyan Ortaokul İçin Tarih II ders
kitabını geniş bir bakış açısı içinde
ele almaktır. Bu çalışmada üç alt
probleme cevap verilecektir;
2- Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarından 1940’a
