Muallim Cevdet, who was born in 1883 in Bolu, completed his primary and secondary education in Bolu. Firstly, in the study, it is investigated the years of Muallim Cevdet in Bolu and the data obtained about these conditions are given. Muallim Cevdet, who went to İstanbul to complete his higher education after finishing secondary education in Bolu, has an important place in the history of Turkish education because of both studies and practices in his career and writings. Secondly, in the study, it is dealt with the effect he has in the history of Turkish Education and discoursed on the samples of his studies from the point of Turkish education history. Thirdly, in this study, it is mentioned about the side of his local historian and the practices in his courses in this field. Here, content analysis of his written works and memories has been made and his practices and thoughts on local history have taken place. In the study, the contribution of Muallim Naci to Turkish education history and what practices he had in the field of local history have been identified; it is emphasized that he is the one of those who practiced local history long before the present day.
1883 yılında Bolu’da doğan Muallim Cevdet ilk ve ortaokul eğitimini de Bolu’da tamamlamıştır. Çalışmada ilk olarak Muallim Cevdet’in Bolu yılları araştırılmış ve bu yılları ile ilgili elde edilen bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Bolu’da lise eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra yüksek eğitimini tamamlayacağı İstanbul’a giden Muallim Cevdet, meslek hayatındaki gerek uygulamaları ve çalışmaları gerekse de bıraktığı yazılı eserler ile Türk eğitim tarihinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Çalışmada ikinci olarak onun Türk eğitim tarihinde bıraktığı izler ele alınmış ve Türk eğitim tarihi açısından onun çalışmalarından örnekler üzerinde durulmuştur. Üçüncü olarak da çalışmada, Muallim Cevdet’in yerel tarihçilik yönüne, bu konuda derslerinde yaptığı uygulamalara değinilmiştir. Burada kendisinin yazılı eserlerinin ve hatıralarının içerik analizi yapılmış, yerel tarih konusuyla ilgili tespit edilen uygulamalarına ve düşüncelerine yer verilmiştir. Çalışmada, Muallim Cevdet’in Türk eğitim tarihine yaptığı katkı ve yerel tarih konusundaki uygulamalarının neler olduğu belirlenmiş, günümüzden çok önce Türkiye’de ilk yerel tarih uygulamalarını yapanlardan biri olarak onun bu yönü vurgulanmıştır

According to the TUHED's new publication policy, the articles which have completed the evaluation process will be published online-first. It will no longer be necessary for manuscripts to wait until the “next issue”. Early Release articles will receive an international identification code (DOI), and identified page numbers.
3- Ethics Committee Approval:
In accordance with the ULAKBİM decision of 25 February 2020, Ethics Committee Approval must be obtained for studies on people (without age restrictions), this approval must be specified in the Method section of the article and signed Ethics Committee Approval must be uploaded to the system. Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for publication.
4- New Publication Policy
Beginning from Spring 2021 issue TUHED will require all Turkish manuscripts to contain a full-text English translation. Manuscripts submitted in Turkish will be requested to have full-text English translation if they are accepted for publication after the review process.
