Abstract

The fundamental aim of this study is to determine the results and problems steming from drop out and the reasons of why young being between the age of 15-18 do not attend to school anymore as a result of various reasons although they registered in an General High Schools located in their settlement places in Trabzon province. Parallel to this, it is aimed to present political solutions for solving to this problem and raise awareness in public opinion. In this context, this study includes the same age groups young being students who are attending in general high schools and foreseen to be alumni from high school besides young being school leaver. The dimensions of the relationship between youngs who attend to the school and drop out in socio-demographic, as regards socio-cultural and the socio-economic characteristics, life styles and social abilities has been presented. The main methods of research consist of deepth interview and survey. In the light of date collected from field research, factors related to drop out has been evaluated..

Trabzon ili genel liselerde okulu terk nedenlerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Ortaöğretim çağında, bulundukları yerleşim biriminde herhangi bir Genel Liseye kaydolduğu halde farklı nedenlerden dolayı okulu terk eden 15-18 yaş grubunun okulu terk etme nedenlerinin belirlenmesi, okulu terk davranışının yol açtığı sorun ve sonuçların saptanması bu çalışmanın temelini oluşturmaktadır. Bunlara bağlı olarak sorunun çözümüne katkı yapma amacıyla politika önerileri sunmak ve kamuoyunda farkındalık yaratmak hedeflenmektedir. Bu çerçevede, okulu terk deneyimine sahip gençler yanında Genel Liseye devam eden ve mezun olacağı öngörülen aynı yaş grubundaki gençler de çalışmada yer almıştır. Her iki genç grubunun sosyo-demografik, sosyo-kültürel ve sosyo-ekonomik özellikleri, yaşam tarzları ve sosyal becerileri ile okulu terk ve devam etme arasındaki ilişkinin boyutları ortaya konmuştur. Araştırmanın temel metodu derinlemesine mülakat ile anketlerden oluşmuştur. Saha çalışmasından/taramasından elde edilen veriler ışığında okulu erken terke ilişkin faktörler değerlendirilmiştir.
