Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES
Toros University Journal of Health Research publishes original research, case reports, editorial comments, letters to the editor and compilations.
The rules to be followed during the preparation of the article are as follows:
1. The publication language of the journal is Turkish and English.
2. Studies sent to our journal for publication should not have been published in any other journal, accepted for publication or under evaluation for publication.
3. In the proceedings presented in scientific meetings and the abstracts of which are published, the name, date and place of the meeting are included in the evaluation.
4. If there is a quoted text, table, picture etc. in the studies sent for publication, the author of the article must obtain written permission from the copyright holder and the authors and indicate this in the article. The authors are legally responsible for this matter.
5. When the submission process of the article is started, it will be displayed in the mandatory forms tab and will allow the file to be downloaded to your computer. You must upload the signed version of the file from the same tab.
6. In Turkish articles, the Turkish Language Association's Turkish Dictionary of Terms (http://www.tdk.org.tr) should be taken as basis.
7. A DOI Number is assigned to each article published in the journal and no fee is requested from the authors.
8. If an "Ethics Committee Approval" is required for the article; authors must declare in the "Materials and Methods" section that they have received the ethics committee permission-approval.
9- Authors must transfer the publication copyright to the Journal of Health Research. The publication rights transfer form is available in the mandatory forms tab during the submission phase of your article and it is possible to save the file to your computer. The filled form will be uploaded back from the same section.
10- Submitted articles are queued for publication with the approval of the Editorial Board.
11- The similarity report must be uploaded to the system together with the article submission and articles that do not comply with the publication ethics will not be evaluated and will be rejected.
12- Toros University Health Research Journal does not charge any processing or publication fees for articles submitted.

PUBLICATION ETHICS
Ethical rules
Below are the ethical responsibilities, roles and duties of the authors, journal editor, referees and publisher. The ethical principles and rules below have been prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the ‘Committe on Publication Ethics’ (COPE (https://publicationethics.org/)).
Author(s)
All sources used in the articles (authors, online pages, personal interviews, etc.) must be cited correctly and appropriately.
It must be stated that the articles submitted to the journal have not been sent to another journal and the Copyright Transfer Form must be filled out. The Copyright Transfer Form must be signed by all authors.
Individuals who have not contributed to the article should not be listed as authors.
Conflicts of interest regarding the submitted article must be stated and the reason must be explained.
Authors may be asked to submit raw data regarding their work to the editorial board during the peer review process, in which case authors are expected to share their raw data with the editorial board. Authors are obliged to keep the data regarding a published article for 5 years.

Authors must inform the editor and the editorial board when they detect an error in their work and cooperate for the correction or retraction process.
Reviewers
All articles sent to Toros University Journal of Health Research are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process. Double-blind peer review means that authors are kept confidential from reviewers and reviewers are kept confidential from authors in order to ensure an unbiased, objective and independent evaluation process. Articles are sent to reviewers through the journal management system for evaluation. Reviewers are required to fill out a form that includes their decisions regarding the contribution of the article they are evaluating to the academic field, whether the article is publishable or not, and the reasons for these decisions. The ethical responsibilities and roles of reviewers of Toros University Journal of Health Research are as follows:
Reviewers are required to referee articles related to their areas of expertise only. Reviewers are expected to agree to referee articles that do not have any conflicts of interest. Reviewers should inform the editor if they discover any conflicts of interest and decline to referee the relevant article. Reviewers should evaluate articles impartially and objectively. Reviewers are required to fill out the Reviewer Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate, and are expected not to state their names on the forms in order not to harm the double-blind review process. Reviewers are also required to state their decisions on whether the article they evaluate is publishable and the reasons for their decisions on this form. The tone used by reviewers in their recommendations must be polite, respectful and scientific.
