Durmuş Günay, 1953 yılında Isparta'nın Sütçüler ilçesinde doğmuştur. Akademik kariyerine İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi'nde Makina Mühendisi olarak başlayan Günay, daha sonra Ege Üniversitesi'nde yüksek lisans, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi'nde ise doktora yapmıştır. Akademik hayatı boyunca çeşitli üniversitelerde öğretim üyeliği ve idari görevlerde bulunmuş, 1999'da profesör olmuştur.
Günay, mühendislik alanındaki çalışmalarının yanı sıra, bilim ve teknoloji felsefesi, yükseköğretim ve kültürel konular üzerine de çalışmalar yapmış, bu konularda makale ve kitaplar yayımlamıştır. 2000-2008 yılları arasında Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesi'nde bölüm başkanı olarak görev yapmış, 2004-2007 yıllarında ise Tarım ve Ulaştırma Bakanlıklarında danışmanlık yapmıştır.
2008 yılında Yükseköğretim Kurulu (YÖK) Yürütme Kurulu Üyesi olarak atanmış ve bu görevini 2016 yılına kadar sürdürmüştür. 2016'dan itibaren Maltepe Üniversitesi'nde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaya devam etmiştir. Durmuş Günay, akademik ve idari kariyeri boyunca Türkiye'nin eğitim ve yükseköğretim sistemine katkı sunmayı gaye edinmiş biridir.
Ronald Barnett is Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Education, University of London. He is a leading philosopher, theorist and analyst of higher education and, for the past thirty years, has been developing a social philosophy of the university, in which work he has been combating a ‘double undermining’ of higher education but also advancing practical principles and novel concepts as a way of glimpsing spaces for new kinds of understandings and practices.
He is the author of many influential books (several of which have won prizes), a noted speaker (having been a guest speaker at over 40 countries) and a consultant on higher education matters. For over twenty years, he taught on postgraduate courses and supervised doctoral students and continues to act as an external examiner.
Fatih Safa Erenay, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo, where he has been a faculty member since January 2011. He earned his PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010, following his MSc and BSc degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey.
Dr. Erenay's research focuses on developing novel mathematical models for optimal screening, multicriteria scheduling, and dynamic programming approaches for chronic disorder management. He has received several prestigious grants, including NSERC Discovery Grants, and has collaborated with renowned institutions such as the Mayo Clinic and the Ontario Ministry of Health.
Dr. Erenay has been recognized with numerous awards, including the INFORMS Pierskalla Best Paper Award Finalist and the Service Science Best Paper Award. His students have also achieved significant accolades under his supervision, further highlighting his impact in the field.
Orkun YILDIZ has an interest in academic topics such as algorithmic decision making on the human-centric, business model, digital transformation and regulation, Fintech, human-computer interaction, innovation and technology management, and IT/IP. He has been on the editorial board of various academic journals in the field of management information systems (MIS). These journals are Organizational and End-user Computing (SSCI), Journal of Global Information Systems (SSCI), The Service Industries Journal (SSCI), Neural Computing and Applications Journal (SSCI-E), Australasian Journal of Information Systems (ESCI), Journal of Hospitality and Technology (ESCI), International Journal of e-business (ESCI), International Journal of e-adoption (Scopus), International Journal of Innovation and Technology (Scopus), Theoretical Economics Letters (EconLit), and Journal of Management & Production. Additionally, he served as a referee on conference boards such as the European Conference of Information Systems (ECIS) 2018 (Portsmouth, UK). Currently, he works as an assistant professor in the MIS department at Izmir Democracy University (Turkey), where he teaches MIS related courses and conducts research.
