This study was aimed to determine pre-service science teachers’
levels about graph reading, interpretation, interpolation and extrapolation via
graph data in solubility. A case study survey model from descriptive models was
utilized in this study. A test composed of two sections was used as data
collection tool. After pilot study of the test, the test was implemented to 96
volunteer pre-service science teachers who took courses of “General Chemistry 1
and 2”. Collected data were analyzed simple statistics methods. The study
indicated that pre-service science teachers performed much better in graph
reading than graph interpretation. It was also revealed pre-service science
students’ extrapolation skills were not intended levels. In addition, the study
founded out that pre-service science teachers’ difficulties about graphical
knowledge were very dominant despite relationship between conceptual
understanding and graphical knowledge. Results of this study should be utilized
to be enhanced pre-service science teachers’ graphical knowledge one of the
science process skills.
