The energy consumed for air conditioning constitutes a significant part of total consumption in our country. Given this situation, it is crucial to use more efficient systems or renewable energy sources for air conditioning. Heat pump applications, which are one of these systems using natural energy as a source. In this study, the performance of the horizontal ground source heat pump system (GSHP) installed in the energy house at the Sivas Cumhuriyet University campus was investigated. The underground heat exchanger that was placed at a depth of 2,5 m had 4 lines and a total length of 370 m. As a result of the experiments, the variation of the soil temperature at different depths, the change of the indoor and outdoor temperatures and the change of the heat pump and system performance coefficients were obtained. The performance coefficients of the heat pump and the system (COPHP and COPSYS) were obtained between 1,96 – 2,3 and 1,7 – 1,99 respectively.
