The aim of the current study is to scrutinise the
research carried out in the field of psychology in Turkey. The paper selects
the subfields of ‘educational psychology’ and ‘social psychology’ as a case and
focuses on the methodology employed in this research. 84 research studies (n=44
for educational psychology and n=40 for social psychology) were included within
the current study. Findings of the analysis have revealed that (a) the
methodological approach was predominantly based on quantitative and positivist
paradigms, (b) the methodology employed was guided to a little extent by the
purpose and questions of the research study, and (c) the implemented procedure
mostly contained cross-sectional data collection from a sample in a narrow
research setting. Findings of the current study help to shed light on and
create awareness in regards to how methodology is utilised in psychology
research by providing a detailed description of these studies.

Araştırma sonucunda (a) araştırma
