Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı (IBDP) Türkçe A: Edebiyat Dersinin Öğrenci ve Öğretmenler Tarafından Değerlendirilmesi ve Öğrenci Başarısı Üzerine Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı (IBDP) Türkçe A: Edebiyat dersinin öğrenci ve öğretmenler tarafından amaç, içerik ve elde edilen yararları açısından değerlendirilmesi, bu konuların öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin bakış açılarından nasıl algılandığının tespiti ve bunun öğrenci başarısı üzerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada anket yöntemi kullanılmış, anketlerde 5’li Likert ölçeği ile değerlendirilen çoktan seçmeli sorular ve açık uçlu sorulara yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın kapsamı: Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı (IBDP) Türkçe A: Edebiyat dersi, İstanbul’da bir özel okul bünyesinde bu dersi alan öğrenciler (10, 11 ve 12. sınıf) ve söz konusu özel okulun bağlı olduğu vakıf bünyesinde eğitim ve öğretim yapan dört özel ortaöğretim kurumunda bu dersi veren öğretmenlerdir. Anket sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesinde basit doğrusal regresyon, korelasyon, t-test ve ANOVA gibi istatistiki yöntemler kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda IBDP Türkçe A: Edebiyat dersinin öğrenciler tarafından sahip olunan algı seviyesinin ders başarısını açıklama düzeyinin istatistiki olarak anlamlı olmakla birlikte zayıf düzeyde kaldığı, söz konusu dersin algı seviyesinin kız öğrencilerde erkek öğrencilere, öğretmenlerde ise öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğu, 10, 11 ve 12. sınıflar arasında, ayrıca meslek ve IB tecrübesi açısından kıdemli/kıdemsiz öğretmenler arasında algı düzeyinde istatistiki anlamda fark bulunmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Evaluation of International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) Language A: Literature Course by Students and Teachers and Analyzing its Effects on the Students’ Performance

Öz

The aim of this research is to evaluate the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) Language A: Literature course by the comments and perceptions of students and teachers in the scope of goals, content and gains and to analyze its effects on the students’ performance. Survey method has been used. There were multiple choices questions in the surveys which have been evaluated by means of Likert 5-point scale and also there have been open ended questions. The participants of the survey were the 10th, 11th and 12th grade students attending at a private high school in Istanbul and following International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) Language A: Literature course and the teachers giving this course. In order to maximize the number of the participant teachers, the sample has been enlarged to the schools under the management of the same foundation. Statistical methods such as simple linear regression, correlation, t-test and ANOVA have been used to analyze the results of the survey. E-views 12 (Student Edition) has been used as a statistical tool. According to the research results it can be seen that the perception levels of IBDP Language A: Literature course by the students statistically effect students’ performance but in a weak way, IBDP Language A: Literature course perception levels are higher for female students than male students and higher for teachers than the students, there are no statistically difference among 10th, 11th and 12th grades, and also there are no statistically difference according to the vocational or IB seniority of the teachers.
