Roma Kolonizasyon Sürecinin Parium’daki Siyasi Yansımaları

Öz

M.Ö. 1. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Iulius Caesar’ın izlediği politika gereği, fethedilen topraklarda, devletin çıkarları doğrultusunda bazı yerleşimlere koloni statüsü verilmiştir. Bu kolonizasyon faaliyetleri neticesinde Anadolu’nun kuzeybatı köşesinde yer alan Grek polislerinden Lampsakos ve Parion birer Roma kolonisine dönüştürülmüştür. Tıpkı Lampsacus’ta olduğu gibi, bu yeni siyasi yapılanmanın ilk kanıtlarını, Latince lejantlı koloni sikkeleri oluşturur. Bunlar üzerinde okunan “C G I P” harfleri, Roma kolonisi Parium’un yeni isminin baş harfleri idi ve İmparator Hadrianus dönemine değin darp edilen sikkeler üzerinde bulunmaktaydı. İmparator Hadrianus döneminde ise sondaki “P” harfinin önüne “H” harfinin eklendiği görülmektedir. Bunu takiben, M.S. 3. yüzyılın üçüncü çeyreğine kadar darp edilen sikkelerde koloni ismi “C G I H P” olarak belirtilmiştir. Mevcut isme eklenen bu harf, Parium’un koloni statüsünün yenilendiğine işaret etmektedir. Koloni sikkeleri ise Parium’daki Roma koloni statüsünün üç asırdan fazla sürdüğünü kanıtlamaktadır

Political Reflections of the Process of Roman Colonisation in Parium

Öz

In the second half of the 1st century BC, the policy pursued by Julius Caesar was given colonial status in some settlements in the conquered lands in the interests of the state. As a result of these colonization activities, Lampsacus and Parium, one of the Greek poleis located in the northwest corner of Anatolia, were converted into Roman colonies. Just as in Lampsacus, the first evidence of this new political structure is the Latin legacy colony coins. The letters "C G I P" read on these were the initials of the new name of the Roman colony, Parium, and were located on the coins that were beaten up to the time of the Emperor Hadrian. In the period of Emperor Hadrianus, it is seen that the letter "H" is added in front of the letter "P" at the end. Following this, in the battered coins until the third quarter of the 3rd century in the commun area, the colony name was expressed in “C G I H P”. This letter, added to the existing name, indicates that Parium's colony status has been renewed. Colony coins proves that the Roman colony status in Parium lasts for more than three centuries.
