Ayşe Ömür Atmaca 1998 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nden mezun olmuştur. Yüksek lisans ve doktora derecelerini Uluslararası İlişkiler alanında sırasıyla 2003 ve 2011 yıllarında Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi'nden almıştır. Halen Hacettepe Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nde Doçent olarak görev yapmaktadır.Türk-Amerikan ilişkileri, Ortadoğu siyaseti, Arap-İsrail çatışması ve eleştirel jeopolitik alanlarında çalışmalar yapmaktadır.
Political scientist, specializing in Middle Eastern issues. She is an assistant professor at the Institute of the Middle and Far East at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University. She also completed MA studies in international relations (specializing in strategic studies) and cultural studies - Middle Eastern studies. She obtained an MA in Turkish Studies at the Faculty of Philology. She also studied at the Universities of Istanbul and Hacettepe in Turkey and at the University of Amman in Jordan. She was doing internship at the University of İstanbul Şehir (Center for Modern Turkish Studies) and underwent training at Leiden University. She participated in fieldwork in Syria, workshops in Iraq, and a scientific research internship in Morocco. She gave open lectures at Trinity College in Dublin and the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. She is the author of numerous scientific articles on the Middle East and Africa. She has presented her papers at many conferences and congresses. Her research interests focus on the history, culture, society, economy and politics of Turkey, Islam, especially Sufism and political Islam, and the broadly understood Middle East and Africa.
