PRELIMINARY REVIEW PROCESS OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD
JAUFC’s Editorial Board evaluates the manuscripts by considering the following criteria:
- Manuscripts must be written in accordance with the journal writing rules.
- Manuscripts must be written using academic language.
- Manuscripts must be original studies that have not been published elsewhere and have not been sent for publication.
- Manuscripts must not contain plagiarism, and a plagiarism report from Turnitin or iThenticate programs must be uploaded to the system together with the study. In order for manuscripts to be evaluated, the Turnitin or iThenticate plagiarism report must be 15% or less. Manuscripts with a similarity rate above this rate will not be taken into consideration. Manuscripts without a Turnitin or iThenticate report will be rejected during the preliminary evaluation process. If the Editorial Board detects a suspicious situation in the similarity report uploaded by the author(s) during the preliminary evaluation process, it has the right to upload the file of the relevant study to the plagiarism program and check it again to determine the similarity rate.
- The manuscript must be consistent in terms of purpose, subject and content.
- Manuscripts must include title, abstract, keywords, abstract, introduction, literature, method, conclusion and bibliography, English extended abstract (for manuscripts in Turkish).
- Manuscripts must be at least 5000 and at most 8500 words.
- Manuscripts that do not comply with these rules will be rejected by the editorial board without going through the peer review process.
- The preliminary evaluation process carried out by the editorial board in the journal takes a maximum of 10 (ten) days.
DOUBLE BLIND PEER-REVIEW PROCESS
- The peer-review process of the manuscripts that pass the editorial evaluation begins. In the appointment of reviewers, the compatibility of the manuscript subject with the reviewer's field of expertise is taken into consideration.
Manuscripts are sent to two reviewers in accordance with the double blind peer-review system. If both reviewers’ reports are positive, the manuscript is published, and if it is negative, the manuscript is rejected. In case of a positive or negative report from the reviewers, a third reviewer is appointed. The manuscript is accepted or rejected in line with the report of the third reviewer. As a result of these examinations and evaluations, changes and/or corrections may be requested from the author(s) of the manuscript. If deemed necessary and/or recommended by the reviewers, the study can be submitted to the evaluation of more than three reviewers.
- Manuscripts whose peer-review process is not completed will be evaluated for the next issue.
- The peer-review evaluation process can take 30-240 days.
