Ceride: Journal of Ego-Document Studies is the first journal dedicated to the study of ego-documents in the world. The scope of the journal consists of those sources referred to as “ego-documents” or “self-narratives” in English (as “ben-anlatıları,” “özyaşamsal öyküler” and “birinci ağızdan anlatılar” in Turkish ) such as diary, memoir, autobiography, and private letters. Ceride is a journal of historical studies and primarily publishes articles written from a historical perspective; however, it embraces an interdisciplinary approach and encourages different views of social sciences and humanities to ego-documents.
Ceride is an peer-reviewed journal of international standards publishing original, pioneering articles on ego-documents written in Turkish and English, regardless of the historical period or geographical boundaries. Involving original research articles, translated articles, document publications, research notes, book reviews, and meeting reports, the journal is being published twice a year, in June and December.
