Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Ceride adheres to the highest international standards in publication ethics and adopts the ethical publishing principles of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). Ceride fully accepts its ethical responsibilities in the publication process, is committed to applying publication ethics standards and expects all parties involved in the publication process to act in accordance with these standards. Authors are responsible for the scientific and ethical compliance of their articles. Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, publication by slicing, copyright infringement and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. Any article found not to comply with accepted standards will be removed from publication, including those which have already been published.
All articles submitted to the journal will be checked for plagiarism through iThenticate, ones that show a 15% or more similarity rate are rejected.
Authors
All articles submitted to the journal must be original. Authors undertake that the work they submit to the journal has not been published before and is not under evaluation simultaneously in another journal.
Papers presented at scientific meetings are accepted provided that they have not been published before and that they have been presented with reference to the relevant meeting.
Authors are responsible for their articles’ compliance with scientific and ethical principles.
The author is responsible for observing the applicable copyright laws and agreements. Copyrighted materials must be used with the necessary permission and acknowledgement.
All sources used in the article must be cited in accordance with the journal's citation system, and all sources cited in the text must be included in full in the bibliography section.
In studies with more than one author, all authors must have made direct academic and scientific contributions to the article. In articles with more than one author, the names of the authors are listed in accordance with their joint decisions. The Copyright Transfer Form, signed by all authors in accordance with this order, must be uploaded to the journal system. All individuals who do not meet the sufficient academic and scientific contribution criteria for authorship, and who have contributed to the study outside of this criterion - for example, those who only provided technical support, assisted with writing or provided only general support, provided financial and material support - must be listed in the "acknowledgements" section.
Authors are responsible for submitting their articles in accordance with the journal's writing rules and making any changes requested by referees and editors in this context. Authors are given 15 days to make any changes requested by the referees and to submit any information or documents that the journal editor may request. Failure to fulfill such requests within 15 days will constitute grounds for rejection of the article.
Authors must declare any financial relationships, conflicts of interest, or competitions that may affect the results of the research or the scientific evaluation of it to the editor.
When an author discovers an error or inaccuracy in their article that is under review or has been published, they are responsible for contacting the editor and cooperating with the editor in the process to correct or retract the article.
Reviewers
The journal is committed to ensuring that the reviewing process is fair, protected and improved. Peer reviews must be impartial and critical.
If the reviewer has no interest/knowledge in the field of the work submitted to him/her for evaluation, feels inadequate in criticizing, or thinks that he/she will not be able to submit his/her evaluation on time, he/she should resign from the task by informing the editor of the situation. The reviewer should make an academic and scientific evaluation only on the text submitted to him/her. The personalities, skills and competencies of the authors are not subjects of evaluation. Reviewers should provide details of their evaluations and justify their decisions.
The texts submitted for evaluation are confidential documents and are not shared with anyone other than the editor and authorized persons. Privileged information and ideas obtained during the reviewing process should be kept confidential and should not be used for personal benefit. If there are any relevant publications not employed by the author, the reviewer should inform the author.
If the reviewer detects a significant similarity or overlap between the work being evaluated and another work that he/she is aware of, he/she should bring the situation to the attention of the editor.
Reviewers should resign from the relevant task by informing the editor in the event of a conflict of interest that may arise due to competition, collaboration or other connections between the author and the reviewer.
Reviewers should not have a conflict of interest with other parties such as authors or editors. Reviewers should cooperate with and assist authors in improving texts and editors in making decisions about the article.
Review duties are not given to individuals with whom the authors have previously collaborated, who have assisted in the preliminary reading of the relevant article, with whom the authors are known to have had a previous conflict, who may benefit financially from the publication of the work, and/or who work at the same institution as the authors.
Editors
The editor is responsible for the content and quality of the publication.
He/she has the authority to accept or reject an article. In doing so, he/she acts according to principles such as the originality, importance, clarity, validity and relevance of the study to the journal's subject area.
He/she is responsible for making the final decision on the articles to be published in the journal. He/she must do this in accordance with clear, transparent, scientific and objective criteria without any prejudice towards the author.
The editor evaluates the studies independently of the ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religious belief and political philosophy of the authors.
The editor ensures a fair peer review for each article submitted for publication.
He/she has the authority and responsibility to issue corrections, explanations, retractions and apologies when necessary.
The editor must not have a conflict of interest regarding accepted or rejected articles and must not allow a conflict of interest between the authors and the reviewers.
The editor has full authority to appoint reviewers and is responsible for keeping the names of the reviewers confidential. He/she also guarantees that all information regarding the submitted articles will remain confidential until the article is published. The editor is responsible for informing readers about who funded the research and whether the funders have a role in the research and publication process.
Publication Policy
The journal adopts an open access policy. All articles sent to Ceride must be original, unpublished and not simultaneously under evaluation in another journal. Papers presented at scientific meetings are accepted provided that they have not been published before and with the necessary explanation that they were presented at the relevant meeting. Each submitted article is subject to peer review by at least one journal editor and at least two reviewers. If two reviewers report negatively, the article is rejected. Articles receiving two positive reports are accepted for publication. Ceride guarantees that all information regarding the submitted articles will remain confidential until the article is published. Each article must have a Turkish and an English abstract (öz and abstract) of 200-250 words at the beginning. For each Turkish and English abstract, 5-7 keywords must be provided. Research articles are expected to not exceed 10,000 words, excluding notes and references. Otherwise, the editor must be informed. Book and article reviews are expected to not exceed 4,000 words, excluding notes. No fee is charged under any name from authors who submit articles to the journal for publication. Authors are not paid for their articles. Authors and editors are not paid for publication. Published articles should not be used without citing the source. All rights reserved. The Editorial Board has the authority to decide on any issue not specified here.
Plagiarism Policy
Articles are subjected to similarity tests via the "iThenticate" program. All studies with a plagiarism rate of over 15%, excluding the references, are rejected and returned to the author without being evaluated.
