Author Guidelines

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Authorship and Contribution
Authorship shall be confined to individuals who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All significant contributors must be acknowledged as co-authors. Individuals who have made minimal contributions to the work, such as language editing, must be duly acknowledged in the acknowledgments section. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and consented to its submission for publication. Authors are expected to meticulously review the list and sequence of authors prior to submitting their manuscripts and to furnish the definitive author list upon original submission. The editor will only entertain requests for the addition, deletion, or reorganization of authors after the article has been submitted in exceptional circumstances. Any additions, deletions, or reorganizations of authors must be unanimously agreed upon by all authors involved. Authors collectively assume responsibility for the work.

Requests for Change of Author
Changes to the author list, including additions, deletions, or rearrangements, are permissible solely before the article's acceptance, subject to approval by the Journal's Editor.
Upon receiving a request for such a change, the Editor will ask the corresponding author to provide (a) the rationale for altering the author list and (b) written confirmation, typically via e-mail, from all authors indicating their consent to the addition. The editor will only entertain requests for the addition, deletion, or reorganization of authors after the article has been accepted in exceptional circumstances.

Writing of Article
Authors of original research papers are expected to approach the topic with originality and engage in an objective discussion. The manuscript should provide adequate detail and references to enable others to replicate the study. Engaging in fraudulent or knowingly false statements is considered unethical behavior and is not acceptable.

Originality
The author must ensure that the article is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, in any language.

Using Original Sources and Citation
Authors must ensure that they have produced entirely original work, and if they have utilized the work or verbiage of others, proper citation must be provided. Privately obtained information, including that acquired through conversations, correspondence, or discussions with third parties, must not be utilized without the explicit written permission of the source.

Data Access and Preservation
Authors may be requested to furnish research data supporting their manuscript for editorial assessment and/or to adhere to the journal's open data mandates. Authors must be ready to grant public access to such data whenever feasible and to retain such data for a reasonable duration following publication. Our journal recommends uploading research data to TÜBİTAK's Aperta Portal.

Multiple and Simultaneous Publication
An author must refrain from publishing an article containing the same research in more than one journal. Simultaneously submitting the same article to multiple journals is considered unethical. An author should avoid submitting a previously published article for consideration in another journal, unless it is submitted in the form of an abstract.

Publication of Studies Based on Surveys and Interviews
For research in all disciplines that require ethics committee approval (Ethics committee approval must be obtained, this approval must be stated and documented in the article.) For studies necessitating ethics committee approval, details regarding the authorization (committee name, date, and reference number) must be provided in the method section and on one of the initial or final pages of the article. In the case of reports, documentation regarding the signature of the informed consent form must be incorporated into the article.

Conflict of Interest
Any financial or other interests that may potentially lead to conflicts of interest, significantly compromise objectivity, or confer an unfair advantage to any individual or entity must be disclosed. All sources of financial support received during the research's execution and manuscript preparation, along with the sponsors' roles in the study, must be elucidated. If no funding was received, this should also be indicated. Examples of potential conflicts of interest that necessitate disclosure include consultancies, salaries, and grants. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed promptly at the earliest feasible stage.

Error Reporting
When an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they should promptly notify the journal. The author also has the responsibility to collaborate in withdrawing or correcting the article if deemed necessary by the editor. If the editor or publisher becomes aware from a third party that a published work contains errors, it is incumbent upon the author to cooperate with the editor, which includes promptly informing the editor of the situation.

Image Integrity
It is unacceptable to manipulate an image by enhancing, darkening, moving, removing, or adding a specific feature. Authors are required to adhere to the graphic image policy established by the journal.
