Peer Review Process and Principles
The Fırat University Journal of Social Sciences employs a double-blind peer review system. Reviewer and author identities are kept confidential throughout the review process. The evaluation process is conducted transparently, in accordance with ethical principles, and aims to enhance scientific quality.

Expectations from Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:

Evaluate submitted manuscripts based on scientific originality, methodology, content relevance, and ethical compliance,
Provide constructive, clear, and academically appropriate feedback,
Make justified recommendations for revision, improvement, or rejection as necessary,
Decline to review in case of any conflict of interest.
Evaluation Criteria (Aligned with International Academic Publishing Standards)


The peer review process of our journal is guided by internationally accepted academic publishing standards and includes the following core criteria:

Scientific Contribution: The manuscript should make an original contribution to the field of social sciences and offer innovation in relation to existing literature.
Methodological Consistency: The research methodology should be clearly defined, and appropriate data collection and analysis techniques should be employed.
Ethical Compliance: If the research requires ethics committee approval, it must be obtained and declared. Plagiarism and similarity rates must remain within acceptable limits (total similarity must be below 20%).
Academic Writing: The manuscript must be written in a clear, academic style, and the reference list should follow APA guidelines.
International Standards: The manuscript language (Turkish or English) must meet scientific standards. Authors, abstracts, keywords, and references should comply with international norms.
Formatting and Readiness for Publication: Formatting, writing rules, and the arrangement of figures and tables must strictly follow the journal’s style template.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript content,
Accept review assignments only within their area of expertise,
Provide objective feedback without personal bias,
Report any detected plagiarism, data fabrication, or other ethical issues to the editorial board.

Review Process

Reviewers are given 15 days to complete their evaluations. Extensions may be granted upon request.
For manuscripts requiring revision, authors are expected to submit a clear response report addressing all reviewer comments.
Final decisions are made by the editorial board, considering the reviewers’ evaluations.

Acknowledgment and Contribution

The Fırat University Journal of Social Sciences extends its gratitude to all reviewers who contribute to the scientific publication process. The names of the reviewers involved are announced to the public in each issue of our journal.
