The Maarif Mektepleri International Journal of Educational Sciences (MM-IJES) employs a double-blind peer review system to ensure the impartiality and confidentiality of the review process. In this system, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the evaluation phase. The identities of reviewers who opt to decline the review of a manuscript are also kept confidential.
Due to the principle of double-blind review, all communications between authors and reviewers are facilitated indirectly through the journal's editorial management via the DergiPark system. Manuscripts are sent to three reviewers, who are given 15 days to either accept or decline the invitation to review. If a reviewer declines, an alternative reviewer is sought. If they accept, they are provided with an anonymized manuscript and a review form. Reviewers initially have 15 days to complete their assessments, with the option to request an additional 15-day extension if needed.
The peer review process continues until at least two positive or two negative reports are received. Reviewers have the discretion to deem manuscripts suitable for publication, recommend revisions, or request to see revisions before making a final decision. This rigorous review process ensures that all submissions are evaluated fairly and contribute significantly to the body of academic knowledge.
