Assoc. Prof. Yordan Yordanov graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University – Sofia with MSc in Pharmacy in 2015. He defended his doctorate in Toxicology on the topic “In vitro and in vivo toxicological characterization of nanosized drug delivery systems”. As of 2020 he is a Senior Assistant Professor and as of 2024, an Associate professor at “Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Toxicology” Department. He has a post-graduate specialty qualification in “Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis” from the Medical University –Sofia. He teaches the following courses “Toxicology”, the elective disciplines “Drug Addiction” and “Drug Metabolism” and “Pharmacology”. The scientific research activities and contributions of Sen. Assist. Prof. Yordanov are in the following
areas of the medical and pharmaceutical science: toxicological characterization of newly-synthesized/isolated compounds and drug delivery systems, nanotoxicology, microscopy image analysis, experimental data analysis. His scientific interests include omics approaches, data science and
bioinformatics. He has authored or coauthored 36 scientific publications, indexed in Elsevier’s Scopus with 422 citations. Has expertise in in vitro toxicological studies. Participant in 16 scientific projects, financed by the Medical Scientific Council at Medical University-Sofia, Scientific Research Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science, COST Association.
